I have a ‘24 stx with the 2.7 with only 2500 miles on it. Since I had it, I hear a very faint “humming” from what seems like somewhere under the drivers side. It starts almost exactly at 45 mph and tapers off at 50 mph, really only heard at 45-46 mph to be honest. No vibration associated with it per se. It does it in any gear I manually change it to, and will do it rolling in neutral too at those speeds.

The exhaust runs sort of in that area, but since I hear it in neutral at that speed, I ruled that out. I read the active air dam deploys around that speed, so I thought maybe it has something to do with air deflection? I do hear it maybe slightly more on smooth new paved roads. Does anyone have similar humming just from the stock tires in the 20 inch rims?

Clearly it does not sound like a big deal because it essentially only does it at 45 and 46 mph and the noise is faint, like I mean you will only hear it if you’re listening for it, but has anyone else experienced this?

The dealership says they don’t feel or hear anything, which I’ve heard before on previous vehicles (that actually had issues), so just wanted to run it past some actual owners on here.

My 2024 does this exact same thing. It does it around 45-50 mph and also 31-32 mph. Its a rotational sound that sounds like offroad tires. My truck is at the dealer right now for it because its been getting louder recently. Did you ever figure it out?

Sort of. I had noticed the humming corresponded with some pedal vibrations that so many people seem to have. I started driving my truck in tow/haul mode which changes my rpm’s, and causes less of a “lugging” feel. This seems to pretty much eliminate the humming. I guess it was something associated with the drive shaft, transmission or rear end.

My biggest complaint of this truck is the pedal vibrating. It seems to have multiple causes of it. For one, the transmission is geared like crap. Like I noted, I drive in tow mode. Second, every single little crack in the road transmits some vibration. I think this is because of the aluminum the truck is made from. Lastly- even my stereo at relatively low volume (basically anything more than volume 8) makes my pedal vibrate. Everything reverberates in this pedal.

Hello I have a 2025 F150 STX Supercab 6'-7" bed 4wd 2.7L with 4,157 miles. I bought this truck new this past May. I have the humming noise when coasting (decelerating)from approx 45-53 MPH. Sometimes this sound is a little louder when towing my camping trailer (weighs 4,000 lbs). I also noticed my pinion seal had a leak around the bottom of the rear diff. I brought my truck in to Sarat Ford of Agawam, MA yesterday for the (2) recalls (brake boost, screen update) and I also mentioned the hum and the leak. They told me they all make that noise and nothing was wrong. I asked about the pinion seal leak and they said that they didn't find a leak. they said it looks like I undercoated the truck and said that was it possibly dripping. I did apply fluid film toward the end of the summer, but did not apply any near the yoke of the rear diff or the pinion seal. I explained i had an oil drip mark on my driveway right where the rear diff would be and that I saw an oil drip on the bottom of the diff. I didn't argue with the point I guess i will wait and see if there is an other recall or the leak gets worse.

My point is that that humming noise is definately related to the pinion seal leak, but I can't prove that issue.
