I recently did a full transmission service on my 2023 F150 5.0 Tremor. I installed a PPE deep-sump pan, which adds about 2 qts give or take a bit to the total capacity. I noticed that in ProDemand, for my VIN, it calls for a hot-fluid check on the dip-stick between 3 and 4.
Based on what I have...
You shouldn't have any issues.
There is a "tab" at the back of the factory skid plate that will integrate with the RCI transmission skid-plate. You have to hammer-out the little steel panel on the RCI skid plate, it's elongated and rectangular, it will be obvious when you see it. This makes...
Just did mine as well, but at 27K miles because I'd rather spend the $200 on fluid and a filter now than $10000 later on a new transmission w/ labor. Trying to get as much life out of this thing as I can.
Also decided install the PPE Deep-sump A356-T6 die-cast aluminum pan while I had it down...
The most expensive fluid + filter change is the one you never did. A new 10R from Ford with labor is just north of $10K. A new filter with 6-8qts of ULV is just north of $100. You choose haha.
Never listen to the manufacturer's service and maintenance intervals. Without going too far down the rabbit hole, it's very clear that Ford turns a profit on things breaking sooner than later (This goes for all automakers, especially in 2025). I plan on keeping my truck for 250-300K miles and so...
This information is only true for whatever the transmission is in this video. At least for the filter in the 10R80 per Ford internal spec and ISO 16889 multi-pass testing by aftermarket labs, the 10R filters have a rated filtration of 10–15 µm nominal, ~25 µm absolute which falls within the...
I'm due for my first transmission service here in the next 3K miles and will be installing a PPE deep-sump pan for extra fluid (and thermal mass) and better cooling via aluminum. I have an RCI transmission skid plate that blocks a lot of the heat from escaping, and since I'm generously rough on...
We F150 guys have a massive aftermarket albeit not as big as a Tundra's, but sharing the raptor platform is nice. I just wish there were more similarities.
Stumbled across this thread looking for an answer also. My 23 tremor is getting used a lot. Not having any luck finding one for the nominal f150.
I have been bothering RCI to make some, they make everything else. I think the issue is it would be difficult to fab. There aren't very many flush...
Just hope that if it is indeed a rear-main leak, they can fix it the first time. It's not that big of an issue, just alot of work to get to it.
I don't know how much of the thread you have read, but the reason my engine was replaced is because Dealer A put a new tech on the job and he failed to...
Well said. Time will tell.
I know Ford in recent years hasn't held the best track record for reliability, but I trust them. My family and I have owned 6 Fords over the course of 25 years from a Hybrid-4 to a V8. I haven't had any issues with them, not a single one.
Maintenance is key...
Good advice. I’m running a 34 (295/70R17), it comes factory with a 33 (275/70R18) so I’m only marginally larger in the tire. I like the look, and going to a 35 is a waste.
As far a gears go, 4.10s weren’t offered by my ford performance dealer, only 4.56. Normally I wouldn’t care about having a...
Negative. Sticking to 3.73s. Worried about HW MPG, though It may not change much if at all. The 10R doesn't seem to be doing me any favors with the huge 12.5" wides I have, and the 2" level makes this thing a fridge going down the freeway lol. 3.73s are here to stay. Good balance imo.
