I found the original OEM step on eBay for $189.00; Amazon didn't have them 3 months ago. Love mine, I'm in my late 60's so it makes getting in and out so much easier. Easy install also and glad I didn't spend the $449.00, the cost when I bought my KR in 2024.

Just read your post, so I went outside with my phone, after the truck has been parked all night locked, without my key fob. The truck did not respond to the phone or me. My truck is a 2024 KR don't know if that makes a difference. I am also connected to Bluetooth and Car Play.

I do not understand why the step will not fit; I have a 2024 KR and installed one myself. I am guessing that you are talking about the center step for the Pro Access Tailgate. The biggest problem I had was getting one. Do you have a different towing hitch?

Same here, I had a 2012 before my 2024, both in carbonized gray and I too have noticed the same thing.

If you are interested in buying one of these, you might want to consider this. I tried for 6 months to find one, Ford had it on back order then removed it from the accessories. Every Ford Parts seller couldn't get it. I was lucky enough to find one on Ebay.

Raise the driver's side back seat to give yourself more room to reach behind the seat. I used a box end wrench to pull the pin up to release the latch on back of the seat. I also bought one of the rear seat release kits from Amazon (attached) so I could get behind the seat easier when needed...
