Compression test and scope passed OK. Did not see issues. The tech found oil throughout the PCV valve (which was replaced 2 months ago) as well as oil in the intake manifold. Conclusion was that the valve covers should be replaced due to defective baffle system. Will now monitor to determine...

Update on dealer: Vehicle used 1.5 quarts in 3000 miles. (1 quart in 1500 miles; .5 quart in 1000 miles) After consulting with Ford, dealer advised this was excessive oil consumption requiring investigation and repair. Vehicle now at dealer for diagnostic tests.

I am now working with the dealer and monitoring oil consumption. Burned 1 quart in the first 1500 miles. They topped it off and asked that I continue driving and monitoring oil level. I expect it will burn another quart in 1-1.5K miles.

Had it changed 4k miles ago.

Was this issue resolved, and have you found the cause? I have the same engine and this past Friday received Ford Pass message of timing issues and oil level issues. Checked the oil and none on dipstick. 21 KR w/ 38K miles. I have the Ford extended warranty. Thanks!

Yes, I have full screen. My dealer updated the truck. Then, I received 3 OTAs - 4/26, 4/27, and the last 4.2.4 on 5/2. Just wanting to make sure 4.3.x is not erroring out.

Many thanks! The dealer updated to Sync 22294 with FDRS. Did not know if all modules had been updated. Do you think the 2.1.1 OTA update was before the dealer's FDRS update? Don't want to go backwards from current version!
