500a vs 501a worth it?

is it really worth the 1100 dollars for 501a over 500a? sound system (I'm okay w/ the stock system and can upgrade that later if needed) and garage door opener? anything else im really missing? (ill get the 400w outlet with the console configuration)

Just ordered (but have time to amend):

Lariat 4x4 screw 500a/ 5.0L v8 / max tow / 360 deg camera / tow mirrors/ black interior center console/ spray liner. I'm at 52.5K less 2k of conditional rebates and whatever else may be avail at time of delivery but who knows if there will be any more this fall. + tax tag title.

Anything I'm overlooking?

Does 501a get you auto 4wd? Some people like that feature. I think the homelink garage door openers are worth something. But it ordered an XLT so I won't be getting any of that. Sounds like a nice truck!

Well I think your missing the fact that the 400w outlet is added to the bed. See photo - Exterior: 400w outlet. When you go console you get the outlet inside. Maybe I’m wrong and someone else can speak to that.

I got a very similar truck but I went 501a. I would recommend you consider the co-pilot Assist (not active) for the adaptive cruse control. I’ve had it on my vehicle foe the past 5 years and it makes a huge difference, most notably for long car trips. I think it’s well worth the $750!

I second co-pilot assist. Wouldn’t have gotten it other than my wife’s car has something similar and it was amazing how much less tiring long trips are with it. Hopefully Fords version is as good or better. Did not get active because I’m not ready to trust that yet.

Also, I believe that adding the bucket seats w/console gets you the position memory for seats and mirrors (I don’t think that comes with the standard seats but could be wrong).

You get the upgraded speakers, same radio. You can add just the B&O 8 speakers for $610. You also get 10 way memory seats/mirrors with the 40/20/40.

I'm with you and am ordering the 500a. I don't need the outlets or garage opener and just want the B&O speakers, so it saves me a few hundred dollars. I know the subwoofer on the B&O is crap (6x9 speaker).

I have a weird order anyways, lol.

Lariat 4x2 crew, 2.7 v6, trailer package (not max), 3.55 locking diff, tow mirrors, co-pilot assist (gives 360 cameras, so does trailer tow package), 40/20/40 ventilated/10 way memory seats, tow mirrors, B&O speakers. I chose my tow/engine options based on pulling a 5000 lb camper once a month. So my total comes to $52,430 + tag/tax/title.

Most of the Lariats I see on the dealer lots are in the $60,000+ range. I just don't need all the other small features that add up. I was considering an XLT at first, but with my options it was just a few thousand dollars more to go Lariat (and it adds a lot of features). I plan on ordering Saturday.

I have a 500a, no cameras except backup and no B&O. The only options I got were the power tailgate, Max Tow, center console and the 400w plug in the bed. It has 4A.

120 volt not standard on the 500a. It's a $290 option (It might be standard on the PowerBoost).

Here's the break down of the 502a mid when I'm building a Lariat with 500a.

$1270 - 502A - The below options are included in the package

$290 - 400W Outlet - You get one outlet in bed, one in console if you opt for console, and one on the dash. (optional with 500a)

$610 - B&O 8 Speaker (optional with 500a, yes the subwoofer is a crappy 6x9)

$370 - Garage Door (not optional 500a)

I'm surprised you didn't get the tow mirrors with pulling a travel trailer (they are required in some states when pulling a camper). I had to get the Trailer Tow Package to add the Tow Mirrors.

The only thing that stinks with the Powerboost 4x4 is you loose a lot of payload. I do realize you probably need it in PA.

PowerBoost 4x4 = 1830 lbs
PowerBoost 4x2 = 2090 lbs

My trailer only 7 feet wide. So no need tow mirror.

I saved ~ 1K by 500a. The outlets came standard on Powerboost, there's a $500 base lariat discount, and the B&O was only $610 standalone. I can live without the garage opener.

Co-pilot Assist 2.0 in Lariats does not give you 360 cameras automatically. You have to add them as A separate package.
