My sales guy said the underside is all coated…no surface rust. Same deal I signed in Feb. I’m getting them to put window tinting matching the rear. Tonneau cover. Wheel well liners. Spray in box liner. hood deflector and moulded splash guards He asked me if I wanted to trade it in!! Hahaha

Did the dealership coat the underside or did Ford do it?

Good on you if your dealer did it for you free of charge.

From Dearborn. He said he figured the earlier trucks off the line weren’t coated. This is my third truck from this guy. I live an hour and a half away with at least 10 Ford dealers closer. I’ll stick with these dealer everytime!

This is awesome news! That explains why none of us 4/26 (possibly all April) guys have complained about rust. Not one person that has posted a picture of their truck in our thread has complained of rust. This removes the main concern I had about the trucks sitting where they were at, and this tells me Ford did conduct maintenance on a regular basis of our trucks. I'm really pleased.

Ok, not to burst anyone's bubble. My 4/30 build that was delivered on 6/22 looked good everywhere except the front of the rear dif and the ujoint in that area. It had minimal surface rust. Took it to the dealer they removed the rust, sprayed a rust inhibitor, and painted it. It was not a big deal, and not as much rust as I have seen on some earlier trucks but it was there. Nothing worth taking pics of and the dealer corrected without a word.

Oh great gods of the 4/26 Build Date thread, please know that I’ve done my best to please you by 1. Adding an avatar and 2. Changing it.

I checked the VVR today and it shows….Ramp 59.

What I’m currently needing is a ship date. Preferably one allowing for truck receipt sooner rather than later.

Tomorrow marks 9 days on awaiting shipment. My dealer confirmed today that they are voluntarily accepting unbuilt cars from the Ford plants and will install missing parts themselves. I hope my truck isn't one of those planning to be built on the dealer lot.

I can send the activation request through the Ford pass app to my truck, wasn't able to do that before. I'm hoping that means it's actually built and truly awaiting shipment.

I was a little worried about rust as well and was hoping my May 1st/2nd build date would be free of it thinking Ford had found a solution. So I asked the dealer about it right after they got it
and well turns out there wasn't any. Damn it! No Rust! Ha! You thought I was going to say there was rust! Admit it! But yeah I've had it a few days now and haven't actually looked to see if there is any rust but my dealer assured me he checked and said there was none. ?

Edit: This wasn't actually directed at you Succeed23, wanted to be clear about that rather just anyone I could try to fool. Sometimes a fool (me) likes to try and fool others ?

I'm surprised we still have a few folks with no ETA updates. I suspect the movement we had last week will continue on into this week. To avoid anxiety and getting upset, try to check the tracker every 3 days. Give your mind a break, and forget about the truck for a bit. It worked well for me during the brutal May into June stretch when our ETAs kept getting pushed back further and further until we all got stuck at 10/31.

Another simple comment from Scott (I'm paraphrasing) that really made me chill out with all this stuff (in terms of getting worked up/angry) was that we are all blessed to even be in a position to order/afford these trucks during a pandemic no less. I found that keeping things in perspective helped me with my frustrations, and I haven't been angry about this stuff since May. I hope it helps any of you still waiting for an update.
