The days of checking VINs in FDRS are over. Ford is now banning accounts for checking VINs without being plugged into the vehicle; even if they are in the US market. @jfalat Be careful. If they ban you, they will tell you it is because remote diagnosis is not allowed and they will ask you to verbally "promise" not to do it anymore to re-activate your account.

From now on, what I suggest is that VIN checks should only be done by people with a 2 day license after they have done all their updates with whatever time they have left on their license. Or, someone with full PTS access can check for pending updates as they do not seem to be monitoring PTS as closely.
This is a pretty stupid way to limit VIN checks. Ford should just adopt GM’s model—sell to individual users a 1 yr license for $50 and limit the license to one VIN.

Excellent idea for the home DIY user. However, independent shops would need to pony up $50 for every VIN they work on. There needs to be levels to this and maybe one day there will be. Right now, it's a shit-show.

Or the shop can just pass through the $50 as an additional programming charge—essentially treat the license as a necessary part to complete the work. Chicken feed at today’s labor and physical parts costs.

Either your Fordpass is not set up, you have data sharing turned off or there is a problem with your truck's modem. It is not reporting any data to the cloud.

Hi I‘ve owned this 2021 F150 for about 3 years now and have never noticed/received an OTA update. I keep checking for one under settings, and it shows “System is up to date.” Looked it up on Ford’s website and saw this (attachment below). Took it to the dealership, and they told me that everything was up to date and they even tried to push an update. Seems like a waste of my time to argue with them that my system is in fact NOT up to date.

I’m looking for an OTA, or at least a good direction to be pointed in. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your truck is on Sync 20262 which is one of the broken Sync version that prevent the OTA process from working. Click the link in my signature about 2021 trucks that cannot get updates for details on your issue. It can be fixed, but you will need FDRS and a lot of patience.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll take a look into it and decide if I want to tackle it.

Hey, could you please check the update status on my 2023 ?

thank you
Due to some recent changes in Ford's cybersecurity measures, we are unable to check for pending updates anymore. Based on your OTA history, you are getting updates and can't be too far behind.

That last GWM update you got is one I had not seen before. Seems like it replaced one existing file in the GWM with the same file. The OTA does not have a name. I will add it to the spreadsheet in the OTA history thread.

Just wondering if anyone is able to check a Canadian truck in FDRS still?

Impossible for almost anyone to do anymore. Even if I could run your VIN through FDRS, it would not download the manifest file needed for the USB update to work without bieng plugged directly into the vehicle.
