To fix that, you need to disconnect negative cable from your 12v battery for 20 minutes. Check for updates again and it will make it past that screen.Dude. I thought MAYBE it was BECAUSE it hadn’t updated. So I got a WiFi booster for my garage; got it logged in. And then tried to check for an ‘update’…but I just got the ‘Checking for updates-this may take a minute’. And it kept spinning for 30 minutes while I sat there. Seems my Ford tech knows LESS about this truck than I do. My ALL DAY LONG service call resulted in a ‘Customer error’ notation on my Service invoice. Told me to ‘push the buttons’ in a different order. And it still does not work.
If you have a PowerBoost, you will need to disconnect the small 12v battery under the rear seat, too.
