Exactly, Fords are awesome!! Lol. That and the aluminum body. I keep my trucks for 15+ years and I need this one to last longer than that as this will be my last vehicle. Read mixed reviews on aluminum as some say " it can corrode " maybe but it won't corrode right through the metal like steel. The mods will likely move it, no worries.
What made you switch from Ram? Besides that Fords are awesome ?
Yes although aluminum body, I was still contemplating rust proofing, Krown, rust check etc because of the frame being steelThe bodies last a long time on these, for sure. Also lighter weight, too. But you have to mitigate the frame rust. Make sure you get under there and check for rust or maybe have it treated if you need it to last for a looooong time.
It is not a bad idea and if you do not laying out the coin, go for it.Yes although aluminum body, I was still contemplating rust proofing, Krown, rust check etc because of the frame being steel
WOW, thanks, I will have to do some research on that. Definitely makes sense though , using higher rpm and less turbo. How does one lock out the gears, shift it manual? I think in the towing mode it keeps it in a lower gear, below 10 ....I think, lol@Rio Darren if it hasn't been mentioned before, you can stay off the turbos by trading boost for engine revs. Instead of letting it lug in high gears (which the truck wants to do; it wants to use all 10 gears), locking out the high gears when towing (overdrive gears are 8, 9, 10) and the higher revs are more economical than sucking heaps of air (and more fuel along with it).

Thanks for the tip Kodiak, will look into it for sure!!!It is not a bad idea and if you do not laying out the coin, go for it.
Now the frame and undercoating is a different matter. Do not skip that and do that as soon as you can. Cosmoline is the best but you probably will not find anyone that sprays that unless you have/know friends.
LineX (some of them) will use a product called Valuguard 160 that is the closest thing to cosmoline that I have found. Valuguard makes a number of products and different Linex's use different products so you have to dig down to make sure they use the 160 and not something else. If you do decide to call around do not just ask if they use Valuguard but specifically VG 160.
Make sure whoever does it has a 360 degree wand for the interior of the box frame. That is the most critical and without doing that, it is basically window dressing.
If you know any old timer military people ask them if they have any experience with cosmoline and if they do, they will probably tell you horror stories about cleaning it off. This is an undercoating treatment that is basically "permanent" and not an annual thing like many others. Good luck.
And being in Ontario.... they use more salt than Manitoba unfortunately...Yes although aluminum body, I was still contemplating rust proofing, Krown, rust check etc because of the frame being steel
The problem is the higher RPMs is where the turbos spool. That advice doesn't make any sense. What you want to do is stay in LOWER GEARS and keep the RPMs below the turbo spool point. And that makes it like you're towing with a normally aspirated 3.5L V6 and cutting off the power that engine produces that makes it such a beast for towing. And the other issue these things spool at low RPMs to give it low-end grunt for towing. You're not staying off the turbos with towing in an Ecoboost.@Rio Darren if it hasn't been mentioned before, you can stay off the turbos by trading boost for engine revs. Instead of letting it lug in high gears (which the truck wants to do; it wants to use all 10 gears), locking out the high gears when towing (overdrive gears are 8, 9, 10) and the higher revs are more economical than sucking heaps of air (and more fuel along with it).
