No, that's the FDRS cable. This will work just fine for FORScan:I thought the cable needed to use forscan was rather expensive?
Thanks. Any idea on how that cable compares to https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081VQVD3FNo, that's the FDRS cable. This will work just fine for FORScan:

Same thing. Both will work, but one is cheaper. I use the vLinker myself.Thanks. Any idea on how that cable compares to https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081VQVD3F
which is what is recommended in the FORScan tutorial
The Mongoose-Plus Ford2 is the most cost effective adapter that's sure to work for FDRS software updates to modules. It can also be used for FORScan configuration changes. Because I do both, I have the mongoose. If you don't plan on doing your own software updates, just get the vLinker or OBDLink and save money....What is the difference between this and the one that is being borrowed in another thread?
Be careful with the vLinker. The FORScan folks have removed it as a recommended adapter. See the February 5 posting here: https://www.forscan.org/Same thing. Both will work, but one is cheaper. I use the vLinker myself.
Agree, it's a walk in the park!! I strongly suggest only using the "Non As-Built" method! It makes things so much easier and you are far less likely to make a mistake.Open your horizons by picking up an OBDLink dongle and doing it yourself. Not only is it so easy, even a caveman can do it, but you'll be making far more changes that you'll love.
Interesting. I just used the vlinker to flash software on my truck last night. LolBe careful with the vLinker. The FORScan folks have removed it as a recommended adapter. See the February 5 posting here: https://www.forscan.org/
Did you download the driver for the cable, or was it good to go as is?Interesting. I just used the vlinker to flash software on my truck last night. Lol
Edit: After reading the link, it seems to be a rare issue regarding compatibility between usb 2.0 and 3.0. I guess since my laptop is an older one, the issue doesn't affect me, but good to know.
