He hand built that, he did not use the existing 3D CAD file to 3D print. I agree it will fit, but I was hoping it would just going to be a modified top cover, and not a whole rework of the CAD file.

His nearly looks factory in how it matches. Are you doing the re-design of the CAD file yourself for the Expedition shifter?

I was just curious. I’d love to see the max amount of additional space be put in with the Expedition shifter. I like how olemustbag put it at the top end of the cubby though. I wish I knew how to use CAD or 3D print lol.

Welp, shifter that was sent to me just showed up 5 days ahead of schedule. Going to start on the CAD now.

Here is the Expedition shifter in the lightning console. The Expedition unit is 44.13 mm longer and 1.3mm wider without the mounting tabs. with the mounting tabs it is 23.5mm wider. I think the easiest thing to do would be to cut the mounting tabs off the assembly and use magnets to secure the shifter, but then it wouldn't be able to be resold, so I'm going to rework the bin to avoid that.

I also see no huge deal in cutting the tabs if need be. I was under the impression that the other shifter design also required cutting the tabs.

You are correct, I missed that somehow. Guess they are coming off.

Honestly only one or two posts even mentioned it. I realized it because the two shifters are nearly the same size if you were to measure from top to bottom of expedition (side mount) and top to bottom of the others (because of the mounting holes)

honestly I’d like the more room the bronco/escape/explorer shifter would give but losing those gear lock outs there wouldn’t be great either. I have the raptor wheel and need to wire those shifters. The expedition shifter just keeps it more factory looking.

Maybe once the wheel is wired in for the paddles I’ll change my mind lol but the expedition shifter will be here Tuesday ?

Wow--this is a sick mod, too bad I have a 19 lol! I was thinking by now these newer trucks would have the rotary dial installed at factory--Looks awesome

Really great modification I will do it if someone could sell the console with (+ and -) buttons.
Checked the link for the Etsy but its for the shifter without the above buttons.
