2021+ tuner

I have a 23 2.7 and they require a ECU swap. I talked to MPT yesterday and my total cost to drop the truck off for the day and have the ECU swapped/purchase device/dyno tune/labour etc etc comes to around $3k USD, possibly more depending on total labour. I am in Canada so this would cost me about $4500 CDN not to mention travelling from Ontario to Florida to make it all happen. If it was under 2k I'd hustle down to disney for a week with the family and just drop the truck off for a day. It would be incredible but it's too much $$$. So I will most likely end up with a Ford Performance tune this spring. Has anyone tuned their 2.7 with the FP tune? I have only found one review online pertaining to an F150 2.7 with the FP tune and it was positive.

Agreed on the price...way too much.

But I will say the tune on my Raptor was worth it for the trans tuning alone...but not if it had been $3k.

I would probably want a FP tune on my 24 if they were sub $800.

I'll likely give into temptation at the end of the year and get another STX but a 5.0 and whipple it...??

I have the 2.7 but unfortunately mines a 24....I hope Ford will get a solution soon. It seems like they could if they wanted as they already offer other tunes for different 24 models.

Just installed the Ford Performance tune and definitely a significant improvement you notice immediately. For me it's the shifting. I've had the truck about a month and have never seen it go in to 2nd gear once until now! It holds the revs higher before shifting and actually downshifts when you get on the gas. The idle is so much smother now too. It was stumbling a bit before. I also ran out all the 87 gas the dealer put in and refilled with 93. I haven't put it through its paces yet but happy so far. I only paid $650 for it after taxes from Blue Oval Industries online.

That is fantastic. The reviews of the FP tune on the F150 2.7 are few and far between. Looking forward to a more in depth review. From what I've learned there seems to be a somewhat slow learning curve that takes a few hundred miles or more before the tune really starts working at full potential. I noticed some of the Ranger raptor reviews noting that after the tune install not much changed but then after 500+ miles there was a drastic difference as documented by 0-60 and quarter mile times/speeds.

Looks interesting Stillen, thanks for posting that. Curious if the transmission got any enhancements/refinement?

The tuner primarily focuses on engine parameters, but it can help improve how the transmission responds by optimizing torque output which would give smoother shifts with quicker throttle responses.
What's cool about ours is if the maps are too high creating jerky shifting and not running as smooth as it should we will go in and adjust the maps and send them over to your chip. You then can update the chip through the app. Process takes all about 3 minutes.
