I'm assuming you guys have the windshield camera and the Ford Co - Pilot 360 for the HSW to work with the Adaptive cruise buttons? How involved is the mod to change this over?

I have an XLT with the 360 cameras. I only needed a wiring harness from a fellow forum member, the heated steering wheel and the SCCM with the heated option. Those along with the Forscan changes are all that you need for the heated steering wheel.

I'm gathering parts now for the HSW and ambient lighting mod including the new SCCM. I also will be ordering harnesses from the same forum member you speak of. I didn't think this was possible without the windshield camera? Have you already done this?

If you're referring to the adaptive Cruise control, you do have to have the windshield camera to be able to enable the functionality, along with the radar sensor, bumper harness and you might have to add wires from the bumper to the main body harness depending on model/year.

Got it. That's what I thought. I will just transfer the switch over to the heated steering wheel. Not a deal breaker for me not to have adaptive cruise.

Yes, I installed it this past fall. As @Blown F-150 mentioned, you can install the heated steering wheel without the adaptive cruise control parts.

Noticed this today. The new wheel has adaptive cruise as shown in pics. I'll be swapping the switch back to my original (without ACC). Will there be an issue with the harness on the new steering wheel or can this be a simple plug and play? Do I need to swap the harness out from my original wheel?

If you plan to add adaptive cruse control at some point in the future, you can just change the Forscan values for the switch. If not, you will be fine with swapping your original switch to the new wheel and making the other necessary Forscan changes to add the heated steering wheel.

This is the picture of my plugs. I have the 2023 Powerboost Lariat with the 502a package. I’d like to have a hard button, perhaps with the numeric temps on the knobs. Can you tell me what I’ll need to do. It is a disappointment that the heated wheel got deleted.

Enjoyed reading through this chain...I just purchased a 24' F150 STX and would like to add a leather steering wheel and I have access to Part number ML3Z-3600-RA steering wheel with heat for a great price locally. I live in the Southeast and won't need heat, but would like to purchase/Install this wheel if possible. Can I install this wheel and not utilize the heat feature? Any wiring issues with it being a heated wheel going into an STX? Thank you for your help!

So I finally got most everything installed, the BoostedGrayGoose upfitter harness, the heated wheel and the HVAC. I have had the Lariat seats intalled for a while, but haven't pinned the connectors to get the DSM connected to the CANBUS circuit or the wries to the passenger seat. I also haven't plugged the power wire for the SCCM/wheel in yet, just the ground. The HVAC unit worked before I updated it in FORSCAN, though when I reviewed the values which came with it I saw mostly strings of zeroes, which I worry was not the default setting. Regardless, it controlled the truck's functions fine before I updated it and after updating it the only difference was that the HSW and cooled seat buttons lit up appopriately.

My big concern is that when I used FORSCAN to update the SCCM, I got a LOT of codes, including some nasty sounding ones, such as "internal electrical fault", "wrong component installed" and shorts in the temperature sensors as well as open circuit faults. The steering wheel buttons didn't work with the Lariat donor wheel, but work fine when I reused the buttons from my wheel (which is bizarre.....the pieces are indistinguishable).

When reviewing this monster of a thread, I noticed that most folks with XLT 302A trucks had a the U2101 fault, but I have a smorgasboard of them which I haven't seen referenced in this thread otherwise. My big question is: should I go ahead and order a new SCCM and assume that my Pandemic eBay special SCCM is cooked, or will hooking up with power wire solve all of this? I am a little nervous about hooking power up to the wheel if I'm not sure that the temp sensor can shut off the heater before it becomes a cigarette lighter.

Also, I wanted to see if Hammaman could post the pins to buy from Ford to repin the heatd/cooled seats. Thanks for all of the knowledge!

I would start by making sure all of the SCCM connections are secure. If so, you may need a new SCCM. If you don't need it right away, keep an eye on the price as I got one last year when they were going for ~$80 new.

I agree on connections, but I reinstalled twice with exactly the same army of errors. What I found odd was that it still communicates with CANBUS just fine: I can read and write changes from FORScan and it'll recall them back to me when I recheck. So the SCCM is connecting to the truck, but the codes aren't giving me anything more than ominous names. Further, the SCCM is passing the button inputs through just fine, which means that it cannot be completely wrecked.

Did you save the as built file from your previous SCCM and load it into the new SCCM? If not, it might be related to the information stored in the new SCCM not agreeing with your truck.
