Saw this in my email this morning. My first thought, this guy hates the crap blank plate as much as I do! It seriously rubs me the wrong way they put that trash in the dash of $85k (MSRP) trucks the same year they raised prices and removed the keypad. Only hope I have is in 26 it's corrected and I'll be able to swap parts to fix this obvious disregard for quality in the pursuit of profit margins. If there was a better option, I'd drop my order immediately! I'm still looking. Pay more, get less, BS!

Turns out it was about Ford getting their X account hacked ? Maybe they take the money they saved on that garbage blank plate and get some better security for their socials. Thread has been closed so that's all I'll say about it. BTW - "Ford Announcement" thread is the about the bots going into early retirement.

That is a gorgeous truck! Color looks amazing.

Unfortunately moving things to the infotainment system and getting rid of the buttons isn't a "Ford thing". Almost all manufacturers are doing it, and it sucks. Read an article recently on how auto enthusiasts are starting to miss real buttons, knobs, and switches in their vehicles, and I couldn't agree more.

So there is a whole new wiring harness moving switches from above the head unit to where 21s had head unit controls. They messed up. The hazard switch should be on top of the steering wheel or similar, more prominent and easy to reach. Then the lone surviving switch above the HU can move down.
I would hate to lose the temp indication in the heater switch.

Good looking truck! I snatched up my 2024 so I could still have the factory key pad. I'm not a fan of the new Auto S/S button but a least in a Raptor you can program the truck to your settings (including auto s/s) with the raptor mode button on the steering wheel.

Welcome to the Raptor world! Now we're above all these peasants... Jkk haha! ? It's true what they say, once you get a Raptor--it's tough going back to a regular F-150 lol. 100% with you on the R button, one of the best features!

Yeah only the 7.2kW has the generator mode. So the smaller 2kW doesn’t have the button. Didn’t realize that it wasn’t an included item for a platinum. Kind of crazy.

Off-topic, but I went and looked at the 25 Ram Limited today. I was shocked they still can't run Android Auto in portrait mode. It just takes up a tiny section at the top of the 15-inch screen. Also, no power steering adjustment for 80k. It was really odd, too, that if you wanted any of the basic towing features, like trailer light status (great feature), you had to purchase a separate towing package. I wouldn't mind paying, but as soon as you choose a towing package, it automatically puts the huge towing mirrors on the truck, Ugh. Nice interior and a powerful engine, but I think they have some learning curves headed their way like Ford did early on with their early direct injection issues. No blank plates ? but a pass for sure.

Here’s something I just noticed about the relocated auto stop button, apparently the company that sells the devices that disable the auto stop will not be able to be used if your switch is on the left side now.

This is another finding from us. My dad tried installing his from his 21. Theres is still the plug behind the screen to plug it into, but since the switch isn’t up there anymore it wasn’t tricking the switch to stay off.

The auto stop eliminator company is only a few hours away, they are going to come up and look at my dads platinum and see what they can do to make a new plug.

Yes the keypad is gone. He had a 21 502a Lariat he traded in. I’m not sure what all would have been deleted as we both have 2021s. I know we were playing around with it and the navigation wouldn’t let you search for an address. Said you had to have something in the ford pass for that to work. Dealer told him to just use car play. Not sure if there’s something that needs set up or what. Ran out of time today to check into it for him.

Already added weathertech mud flap. Have the OCD screen protector to do yet, and get some black f150 letters for the gate. Also has a ARE Z2 cap from his 21 that is getting sent back to ARE to be painted then it will be installed.

Dealer told me Android Auto went full screen last year on Ram, probably just a setting. FALSE ?

Side note, there are tons of videos on YouTube that claim to be 2025. Not one of them is a true 2025 which is obvious because of the buttons above the screen and the keypad on the side of the truck.

I'm guessing if you did make a video with a real 2025 in the title you probably get a lot of interest.
