Has there been a TSB released yet for the 2023 3.5L power boost A/C problems. TSB 24-2093 stated the repair for 2021-2023 power boost 3.5L would be expected available 2Q 2024. Anyone know the status

Powerboost AC problems? Haven't heard of anything like this yet. Are you experiencing issues? The powerboost uses a variable frequency compressor that runs based on demand. It's much different in its operation than all of the other trucks whose AC is on/locked to the engine RPM or off.

The AC is multi-zone and also cools the HV loop when required. What you may be thinking is freezing up could in-fact be exceptional demand to the HV loop. You didn't describe the issue you're having to it's difficult to even speculate. The TSB you listed isn't for the PB.

PM me your vin -- PBs did get an HVAC software update in the last 3 months or so in FDRS, haven't seen anyone post an OTA for it.

I think I received an HVAC update in both the Powerboost and the Mach-E. I assume there are some similarities in the two systems?

Yeah, MME gets HVAC updates every 6 months or so. It's very similar to the PB's AC system.

2023 f150 limited 3.5L powerboost. A/C stop running intermittent while driving. Nothing from vents, can hear the fan blowing but no air from vent. Evaporator line frozen. Shut down the vehicle and about 30 minutes later everything works fine.

Here is the TSB you requested. Fix is a software update to both the HVAC and PCM modules.

Just curious, how do you run your AC -- do you use the auto function or set temp, fan and recirc positions yourself. Recirc can be a booger auto enabling.

Jeb, do you have a PDF version of this TSB? I have searched the inter webs and cannot find a released version anywhere. I want to take my 23 King Ranch Powerboost with it to include the installation instructions about drying out the evaporator in as I have had this AC freeze up at least a dozen times in late year.

thanks, Bill

I do not. I got it off Ford.com, which doesn’t seem to post the pdf. https://www.ford.com/support/service-information/ I usually can’t get the pdf until Ford reposts it on NHTSA’s website, which can take several weeks. @rugedraw has access to PTS. He might be able to get the pdf for you there.

So I’ve got a 2023 3.5L eco boost with 10300 miles that has had this TSB performed on it twice that is in the shop for the 4th time due to that not fixing the issue. Any other suggestions? I’m about ready to have ford buy it back if they can’t fix it. 4 times to the shop and 2 of the same updates with no fix is ridiculous. It was real special driving 9 hours through southern NM in 96° heat with no AC. This last time I pulled over and took pictures of the frozen lines since it was a Sunday when it happens so I could show the shop. Just frustrating.

If the software patch doesn't fix it, there's nothing short of replacing the faulty temperature sensor that would stop it from freezing up.

Just my opinion, of course.

I have a 2022 Powerboost and have sat or driven for many hours at a time with the temp set to 68F. Gulf Coast heat/humidity.

Going to start the return trip home tomorrow morning from Jacksonville Florida to Galveston. About a 15 hour drive. I'm convinced that the only difference in a truck that freezes up and one that doesn't is either a faulty temp sensor or a faulty HVAC component that functions based on that temperature sensor.

The unfortunate part of the equation is Ford supposedly buried that temp sensor with the evaporator. Not easy to access.
