2023 PB 501a 4x4 short bed 7.2KW. PL=1658lbs.
Someone may have the exact number but something I noticed on a recent RV trip, was that when charging the batts and the watts the truck was delivering to the inverter / charger, were above 1750 ish, the ICE ran full time but when below, it cycled from ICE to HVB and back.

I LOVE this truck!

Thanks for the info. I didn't know this.

Next week we are taking out the RV for the first time and using PPOB. I've been connecting it in the driveway to test the microwave, A/C, etc. Everything powers up without issues. This is the only reason I purchased a new truck - traded in 2015 f150.
Ford should spend more on marketing the PPOB. I can't believe the Powerboosts on dealer lots without the 7.2kw PPOB. Took me a while to find one.

Yep, similar situation. I had an F150 that I loved. Probably the most dependable vehicle I'd ever had but it wasn't going to pull the trailer we'd decided on. Certainly not in the mountains.

When I learned about the PB and PPOB, that decision was over.

Admitting I have more than a bit of envy for rigs with 7.2kW PPOB, but alas never available with my 'must-have' SuperCab+6.5' box configuration

We all have our priorities, and it's rare we get everything we wish for. I thought seriously about adjusting my priorities to accommodate the PPOB, it wasn't an easy or obvious decision for me. But it's history now and I have no regrets as I'm sure is the case for y'all PB owners, too! (y)

I like that footprint best too. Had one for 24 yrs (?) Plenty of interior space for us and plenty of bed while still being maneuverable but the PB wasn't available in SC.

So far, I haven't felt short changed with the short bed and while we didn't NEED the CC, no regrets.

But your 5th wheel is cool. I get why you made that decision.

Actually, the Escape 5th wheel had little (nothing) to do with my preference - many owners tow 'em with 5.5' boxes (more than a few PB's in that group) and that doesn't restrict even radical turn-angle with that particular trailer in the least.

For me it came down to non-towing use of a 6.5' box and 145" WB - a combo that's proven to be my 'sweet spot' over many decades of F150 / 250's.
