Speed Governor Delete?

I have a 22 xlt 5.0 i am trying to find the best way to delete the govenor i want to go more than a 100 mph closed track of course ?

A tune or 30% downhill grade will do it. What is so special about going over 100mph though?

You need a tune, to remove the limiter. Tuck wouldn't last very long on a circuit track, without upgrading the brakes, just too heavy. Just too easy to boil the fluid.

The limiter is there for the rating on the tires. Run the tires at their limit and they break down quicker or give out. Busted belts etc.. Makes for bad ride quality and handling when you are doing mundane driving.


Your experience may vary though. I won't be one to criticize for speeding by any means.

Since truck braking systems are designed to manage full payload it seems that they would have more reserve braking available than most cars when running empty. But sure, in actual racing no doubt boiling can still happen if pushed long and hard enough.

I'll point out that a C6 Z06 'vette can be had for under $50k.

Don't forget to replace your tires with ones capable of handling the higher speeds.

I had a blow out once. I can't recommend them. Too dam exciting.

i don’t see any V or Z rated summer tires in 275/60R20. I guess a H rated all season like this will have to do.
