You might be able to buy a used steering wheel containing the button assembly and just swap them out in your truck for the time being. The wheel doesn't need to be removed to replace the button assembly.

Wow, so much information. Recently purchased my first ever truck, 23 Lariat 501A. Tried to convince myself I was ok without ACC, but found you all so I’m going to give it a go. I have the following on order based on reading this thread:
ML3A-9E731-G
ML3Z-15K867-MA
W720714-S450B

Unfortunately it seems like the steering wheel component is on backorder with no dates... an optional piece I'll want to follow up on later. VIN is 1FTFW1E85PKF93320. Unlike most folks here from what I've read, FORscan is where I'll be most comfortable, removing the bumper and installing the pieces will be my challenge.

In my weeks of googling I had found a word doc that walked through steps for the actual install of the hardware, but now I can't find it.

Any help is appreciated, really don't want to screw this up! Cool to see such a helpful community of folks.
I was in the same situation. Bought 501a thinking I would be fine, but the good thing is you reached here and everyone here is just amazing.

I don't know which file are you referring to, but Here is a link to a folder I created with some resources to implement this project. and need not to say it was easy will all the help around.

Best of luck!!

Hey guys, I've read over this whole forum 2x and think i have all part numbers and forscan changes for the most part. i had a couple clarification questions on a few lines in the modules and the correct change to them. P/n's i have for my 22 302a 5.0L w/ 360 cams, no front sensors, has nav/sirus deleted but sirus is added back in and is pre-wired to the IPMA (Confirmed) is as follows; 3x M6x25 or 20 screws, CCM- ML3z-9E731-G and Harness- ML3z-15K867-MA. Already verified its pre wired. As for the forscan can someone confirm i have the correct changes to these lines?

706-02-01- Current: 3xxx-xxxx-xx--, Change: 6xxx-xxxx-xx-- (i know this is the one you add the next value to but wanna make sure i have it right.
720-03-01- Current: x0xx-xxxx-xx--, Change: x5xx-xxxx-xx-- (or should it be 1)
720-03-02- Current: xx4x-xx--, Change: xx4x-xx-- (or should it be C)
720-09-01- Current: xxxx-xxxx-1x--, Change: xxxx-xxxx-8x-- (or should it be 9)
720-10-01- Current: x8xx-xxxx-xx--, Change: xBxx-xxxx-xx-- (or should it be 9)

I hope someone can confirm this for me. it would be greatly appreciated.

I found this helpful, 2021+ F150 - Front & Rear Bumper Removal - HOW TO (youtube.com) . I advise not trying to skip steps i.e. not removing he grill, etc. Take it all down and do it correctly is my advice.

Here’s what I have for my truck which is quite similar to yours. Not guaranteeing these are absolutely correct for you but I’d start here and check for DTCs and make any adjustments after as necessary.

706-02-01 5xxx xxxx xx—
720-03-01 x5xx xxxx xx—
720-03-02 xxCx xxxx xx—
720-09-01 xxxx xxxx 9x—
720-10-01 xDxx xxxx xx—

This is what I determined for my 302a w/ 3.5 ecoboost and 360 cams with the nav/sirius delete (also added Sirius back, like you). Unfortunately on our trucks the “intelligent” portion of the cruise control will not work without a Nav enabled APIM. In other words, the set speed will not automatically adjust to the speed limit of the road, plus whatever tolerance you choose. With these changes you should see speed limit info in your IPC based on what the camera sees, but the cruise won’t adjust based solely on the camera info. You can disable the intelligent portion in the menu in the APIM (once all the other changes are made as well). You’ll be able to set your cruise speed and it will adjust to vehicles in front of you etc, but if the speed limit changes, your cruise set speed will not adjust accordingly and you’ll have to manually slow down or speed up. If you enable the intelligent option it will work for about 45 seconds and then turns off because it’s not getting the data from the Nav APIM. Probably for the better because my truck mistakenly thought it saw a 90mph sign the other day in a 40mph zone. That would’ve been quite the ride if the cruise was set.

thank you, ill do a little more looking and comparing and see where those values would land me as compared to as built. Dont have parts yet but making a spreadsheet with all the changes ill need after comparing. Side note. With sirius did you happen to get the ipc to show whats playing for sirus? Mine worked for a split second just shows radio off now.

Any idea on how much different a Lightning to regular Lariat install is?

Not different at all. Its the same forscan changes and figuring out what bumper harness you need. It’s identical actually.

The folder I shared have some instructions performed on a lightning and it was same for my ICE lariat.

Awesome thanks! Didn’t know if the bumper setup was the same. Parts shipping today… may get to attempt this weekend.

I have a 21' XL 101A Job 1 truck. I have Co-pilot360 2.0 but not Assist. I read early in the thread that an advanced IPMA isn't required.

But what about using a 4" cluster and 8" center screen? Will the ACC still work?

I am assuming that the IACC won't because there is no Nav data.

I know Jesse has done this on his XL but he also upgraded to 12" screen and full digital cluster.

Installing and getting it to work is certain. but if you need a new IPMA or Screen that's something to dive deep into and find out. @Jesse-Infotainment is the guy with the knowledge chest.

Well I thought I was successful… apparently not. When trying to use any cruise I get “adaptive cruise control not available” and I now have a DTC gwm p1674. Any thoughts? Any help is appreciated!

Update: Woke up and adaptive cruise is working! I still have the outstanding DTC GWM P1675 56-0B though… I know this is an active issue for some outside of this mod, but it only showed up when I made these changes. Any help still appreciated!
