Yes that is exactly my question. Any comments as to if you need more parts then the charger. Ie is the console different. Thanks.
Nope, I only needed two things. The media bin with WACM and either an entire center console wiring harness OR the pig tail to wire it in.

I bought a whole new center console harness that had the WACM wiring already run (I did this for the rear heated seats). HOWEVER in my Lariat the wiring was already run to the BCM and APIM. So the wiring was very easy for me. Idk if all trims already have all of that wired or not. My lariat mid has had A LOT of wiring for many of the OEM upgrades I’ve installed

Just noticed glancing through the media bin/glove box/cup holder light thread that the 2023 wireless charger seems to have small holes added, possibly for ventilation? The entire piece looks like a different insert. I'm wondering if they changed anything else about the charger (i.e. higher wattage)? Anybody know?

Sorry guys...too lazy to go outside and get a pic from my own 2022.
I took delivery on my 2023 PB Lariat. I like the truck, but have so many disappointments. As to your post my truck has the high package. It replaced my 2017 Lariat with the 502A package. So lets talk about the charger. Horrible spot for it! I like to actually use that space for storage, you can't use it for storage if you want to charge your phone. I don't use it anyway because all it seems to do is cook my iPhone 12 and really doesn't provide much of a charge. The truck has more technology than the '17 but its a downgrade in many ways. Your pictures show all the LED lighting I had in my old truck (and I could change colors), not in the '23 no LED lighting. No heated steering wheel, no motion seats, but a 20K increase in price! Buyers regret I guess, my '17 had 98K miles, ran like new and I certainly miss it's features. Carplay always worked, now I find myself having to reboot my phone constantly. I could go on but my BP is going up...

Take care,

Mike

My 22 PB wireless charger just charges for a few minutes and then stops altogether. If I move the phone a little it starts again, then same thing, stops on its own. Does anyone else have this issue and have you found a solution? I don’t mind if it just holds the current charge or charges slowly. I just want it to charge!

Dumb question but have to ask. Is your phone fully charged when it stops charging? Mine cycles the charging on and off when it's at capacity.

It’s not a dumb question at all. No, this issue occurs regardless of the phone’s charge level.

My '22 XLT didn't come with the wireless charger so I had one custom made. After buying the media bin I had the holder and charger designed to fit into the stock opening. It looks factory and was a fraction of the cost of ordering the OEM one.

I think I want to go the opposite direction. I’d rather have the storage space than the wireless charger.

I wonder if the storage cubby with the wireless charger is just a drop in replacement.

how hard is it to get this storage cubby out and does it look like there’s space for the cubby without wireless charging?

I hadn't noticed the charger not really "charging" till the other day. My phone was low and we were going to town and I thought it'll charge as we ride. Nope! It didn't lose any charge but sure didn't gain any. Today when I was heading out I remembered to get my cord off the desk. Guess I'll just get me a one of those really short Apple USB-C cables and use that.

I saw this thread and happened to be installing the missing ambient lighting in my 23 today. I took the media bin out to cut a hole for a light so took a couple pictures.

There is a cooling fan on the backside. Only the 2 far right holes go straight through. I assume there is space behind the others holes for more airflow but I didn't verify.

PBJelly,

I know you posted this a little while ago now but I just took delivery of one of these wireless charging pads that has the fan on the back to swap mine which does not. Was curious you mentioned you had your media bin out to capture these pictures.

this may be a slightly dumb question but any guidance or spot you could point me to for as to how to get access to this bin to make the swap? Another thread sort of made it sound like you could just push a very thin pry tool on either side to release the clips to pop up but I haven’t tried yet. When skimming this it seems like the bin was completely out.

I will add today I ran out of time but just completed the cupholder replacement, media bin light, glove box light, and digital temp gauges but while I had it open I was not seeing how I could get the bin out to make the swap. Any suggestions or guidance is appreciated!

Reached out to PBJelly but figured I’d keep the thread going while I wait for the reply: anyone here have guidance on how to get the media bin out to do the swap for the wireless charging pad? Or do you need to remove the bin to make the swap? I had it opened up today to do media bin light, cupholder swap, glove box light, and digital temp knobs but I was NOT seeing how to pull the bin. Appreciate anything yall got! Thanks!

Yeah, it's been a while but I basically followed the first post at https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/thr...llation-media-bin-light-glove-box-light.8385/

It sounds like you were right about there. The attachment to that post should show you everything you'd need to know.

Ahhhh man! I wish I would have had this damn document handy earlier today! Feel like I laid eyes on it and forgot about it! ?‍♂ I probably should have removed the radio controls/lcd temp controls module completely and maybe would have seen those other bolts to pull that out! Thanks for share, guess I’ve got something to do on my Friday night! ?
