Need help on choosing tires

Yes. On the LT 295/70R18 E1.

Yeah I just bought the Nitto Recon Grappers A/T LT295 /70 R18 129R E1 BSW. They only put 40 psi and a lot of guys said I should at least be at 60 due to the 80 max psi. I gonna try them out if I don’t like them then I don’t know.

Technically the SL tires can handle the trailer, but the LT tires will give much better stability at a higher air pressure. The stiffer ride from the LT tire is a small price to pay for having a much better driving experience when the trailer is in tow.

So I don’t know if you have read all the advice I’ve been given as far as the tires I went with being an E rated tire. So I do toe my RV and it weights approximately 7800. I say 8000 for the other stuff. I know those tires are good for towing but are they over kill? Also I was interested in the Nitto Recon Grapplers 295/70/18 116S. I believe they are SL rated tires. I don’t always tow heavy weight i.e. my RV. What tire would you of recommended? Keeping in mind that the previous owner installed a 3 inch lift?

Me personally, I don't think they are over kill. I tow a heavy boat, and do tow trailers from time to time. The higher load rated tires just give me piece of mind when I'm in those situation. I've always run the LT tires so it's just what I'm used to doing. I realize that may not be everyone's' cup of tea.

That being said, The SL 116S tire carries a max load of 2756 @ 36psi. which will handle your trailer. You may or may not feel a bit of sway from the trailer on the SL tire.

The LT 129R will carry a bit over that, (3000) @ 50 psi., so you don't necessarily have to go with 55/70 psi when towing.

Looking at your initial concerns, the SL tire will help your fuel economy, keep the ride quality where you want it, and is up to the towing demands that you have. I say run 'em! If you wanted the extra stability of the LT tire make sure you are at 50 psi to meet load carrying demand.

I’d expect the sl tire in that size to be squishy especially in turns.

Yeah o kinda felt that with my Silverado. It had the 3.0 diesel with the same factory size as my truck. I could feel. Guess I’ll stay with the tires I bought. I do like them and they are a little lighter than them my 35’s
