So for the last year, I've been convinced that there was something loose inside of my rear passenger headliner that was making a noise.
Not a clunck, but more of a tick / click when the vehicle experiences lateral forces from a turn.

Turns out this is coming from my moonroof.
Not from the guards on the slide mechanism, nor the side rubber accordion dust protectors that constantly fall off because they're press fit terribly along the slide mechanism.

I have yet to take the vehicle in to Ford for a diagnosis and repair mainly because I'm lazy, but I'm a year overdue for a mandatory Virginia safety inspection so I figure I'll have them look at that, along with my drivers side tow mirror that frequently gets stuck in the heat on retraction / extension.

Just wanted to give those of you who have had similar noises in the headliner another possible avenue for resolution when talking to the service manager / service techs.

You may want to try lubricating the sunroof seals with Krytox grease to rule out the rubber seals. Plenty of guys, including myself, that owned 13th gens that had problems with the sunroof creaking when turning or driving through anything that would cause the even slightest movement in the sunroof. Haven't had this problem in my 14th gen but I am expecting it to happen.

Did you ever find out what it was? That was clicking because I noticed I have something that makes a similar noise in my sunroof but only when it gets hot out so I’m thinking it’s maybe the seals not sure thank you.

Has anyone ever figure this out? I am dealing with the same issue now. Clicking during lateral movement - seems to be coming from the sunroof area.

I have been having the same issue since I purchased my truck. I can't seem to find the source and the dealership can't either.
