Hello everyone,

looking to get a bed cover for the truck. Really want one that doesn’t leak and looks flush. Any recommendations?

My Ruggedliner hard folder is not flush by any means and doesn't fold against the cab for full bed access. But the most water I find under it is a few drips at the corners if I take it through a carwash and water is force fed into it from all sides.

I had a flush looking bakflip for about 9 years and over the long run I found depending on seals and drain tubes was less effective to make it water tight than going to a topmount cover that sheds water naturally before it tries to force its way through a seal. It also gets me an extra inch or two of height which has made a difference in being able to comfortably close it a bunch of times.

Thanks for the advice, do you have any images you can upload?

I have the hard folding cover that I bought from Ford when I bought my truck. I'm very happy with it, the bed stays dry, even going through the car wash. It folds 2/3 of the way, which gives enough access to carry occasional large items. I haven't removed it yet, but it looks like it comes of fairly easy, if needed.

Lomax hard tri-cover. Looks great. Locks shut when tailgate is closed, and removes easily. I asked for a discount and received it from Realtruck.

I haven't seen a cover that claims or is capable of 100% leak proof into the bed unless you go with a hard fiberglass one that rolls over the bedside edges. Those covers are heavy, expensive and limited on capability.
Most covers will get some leaks at corners or tailgate. Some people put a seal at the tailgate sides to help with this and dust mitigation.
Proper adjustment, especially at the tailgate for the hardcovers is important.

I've had an exceed lopro which looked awesome but deteriorated quickly. I've had an MX4 which was great. Currently, here in Canada (Ontario) there's a company called Bison cover. Same idea as the MX4 bakflip but half the price and the quality isn't exactly up to the same level but it works well for the limited use I need.

I really like the MX4 Bakflip solid fold cover.
What does Ford install (or allow you to configure a F150 order) for Option Code 96X "Tonneau Pickup Box Cover – Hard Folding"? Are they using an MX4 Bakflip?

I don’t know. I looked at the Ford branded solid fold bed cover that our local dealership had set up as a display and It looks very similar to the MX4 and Bakflip may build them for Ford, but I’m not sure.
They are very easy to install yourself and, if you shop around, are probably much cheaper than a Ford branded one.

My truck currently has the Revolver X4S and I do really like it. It's very sturdy, very easy to roll up, and looks very nice. I'll be changing to a style that opens from the front though.

Not sure about the F-150, but I ordered the "Ford" hard folding tonneau cover for my 2019 Ranger and it was a Bakflip G2. I'll be buying an MX4 for my '24 F-150.

Paragon Limited HD on mine. Very easy to both use and remove as needed. Minimal leaks.
