Any mpg increase under normal driving on 93 Octane on the Livernois tune vs. stock on 93 octane?

Realizing I so rarely go over 4K rpm so some economy for a bit of justification would help.

Not really. Pcm updates aren’t common. We may not see another.

the pcm update I apply from October fixed the clunky issues to where it’s satisfactory for me. I really don’t NEED another. If another does come, load the stock tune and get it. I don’t get the crying

There are driveability improvements throughout the entire rev range. Even just a transmission tune alone would be worthwhile. It's just so much smoother, and the added power is great too.

Yes +1.5 avg for me
Thanks for that. Tank after tank average, not just a one off?

Can anyone else confirm something similar?

Thx.

I've tuned every vehicle I've ever owned and have 2 tuned diesels now. In my earlier years it was mostly for power but as I've aged the trucks have gotten lower, and I've become less power hungry, and tuning is mostly about economy and midrange drivability. Additionally, the Powerboost hauls *ss totally stock.

In both of my diesels (not deleted) they gained a real world 4-5 mpg (small diesels, both of them) hand calculated tank after tank, each which makes them not only more fun to drive, but real world cost effective mods.

In reality, I usually full throttle my truck only about 1x per day, which is a lot different than from every stop how I used to be.

I'm only a few tanks in to my Powerboost ownership, but it does feel like there is a notable acceleration difference on 93 vs. 87 (stock tuning) which I like. The mpg difference seems to only be about .5 mpg, so not a good value financially. But then not everything is about money.

Thanks for the input!

Yeah I’ve had the tune since may or June.

But to answer your question, yes tank after tank. I would be really confident to say 1mpg and up to 1.5.

weather and break in makes me more unsure on the 0.5

I don't have enough miles on the truck, or tune, to be able to guage that for myself yet. ~1500 miles on the truck, 700ish with the tune.

Yeah I’ve had the tune since may or June. I drive easy with it 99.9% of the time, my wife drives it more than I do. But Going into boost doesn’t tank the mpg like it did before.

fyi I know you from the other place and I dumped the gde 2.8 for this

this tune is not as big a difference as the gde tune. It’s way more suttle. THAT motor really needed the a10

I was thinking that your avatar photo looked really familiar. Great minds think alike apparently.

Yah, I enjoyed my little 2.8 but hopping in this truck is a revelation in smoothness & power with pretty good economy as well.

One of my best friends that owns several full size Dodge diesels bought my Canyon this past Friday for his run around and seems to be loving it.

Does the tune do anything with the Hybrid system? Better utilization of the battery pack or something?

What are the warranty concerns? Can Ford see the tune? Anyone break a motor of transmission?

When I travel to the mountains and high grade fuel is unavailable, should I be loading in a different tune?

Any other tunes that should be considered?

Does Livernois typically offer annual sales or anything?

Thanks.

Anyone have any information on this? I'd love to improve the shifting of my 10 speed transmission and want to make sure I get a good tune.

Thanks for your help
Sorry for the naivety but what is wrong with the trannies?
My truck will be here Monday (hopefully) and have read some of the tranny issues, but how does 'tuning' it, fix whatever the problem is?

I have limited experience on this topic but can tell you that I test drove a used '21 Powerboost and it was shockingly clunky on the shifts at somewhere around 10-25 mph, both accelerating and deaccelerating.

Never-the-less I bought a different used '21 sight unseen and it shifts nothing like that 1st one I demoed as it's smooth as can be. I couldn't see wanting anything to be different in that regard.

Ok thank you, I will pay attention to the shifts when I get.
So does it have to be this 3rd party tuner? Can Ford mechs not fix it? Or is it the Ford 'default' that is crap?
