Went with the ARE CX Evolve. The tint on the glass is very dark (feels darker than the Leer on my last truck). But I also had a cap pack installed and that further reduces vis since it decreases the field of view.

My rear view is honestly almost useless between the tint, the cap pack that hangs down on the inside, and the dirty dog cargo barrier I've got in the cab (4 dogs between my partner and I so two in crates in the bed, and 2 in the cab when we're together)

When you got that ARE CX Evolve did you see any documentation that gave the static and dynamic weights for the top of that? Finding those weight numbers for the roof rails is like a big secret.

I have some paper work but I never read through it so I have no idea. I'd like to install a sherpa rack over the canopy and cab in the future so probably would be useful to know.

I'm looking at getting the same cap. Can you tell me if the tailgate opens without opening the cap? I was hoping it would without the trim piece that most models have. I've grown accustomed to being able to drop my tailgate with the fob.

Nope. You have to open the window first to put the tailgate down.

I have a Tremor as well and I believe the ride height is a bit taller on the rear end than a standard F150. I also have a standard 7' garage door opening and I'm worried that if I add the cap it'll be too tall on the rear-most point to make it cleanly in/out of the garage opening. I remember my 2015 F150 with Leer topper was pretty darn close. What do you think? Any issues making it in/out of a standard 7' door with a cap on your tremor? Or do you think it is safely under 84"?

I am honestly not sure and haven't measured it. I would test it out with a spotter but I can't see the back half sitting 5" taller than the front (stock height is 79")

Are those the outdoorsman vented windoors? How do you like them? Also, did you get the keyless lock system that works with your key fob or the rope lights? Can you post some pictures of the inside? I have a tremor as well and am looking at the same cap. Thanks!

Yes and love the windows. Never had side access before on last truck and I have 2 large dog crates in the back so before there were pockets of space in front of the wheel hubs I couldn't access and now I can. Plus adds extra ventilation for the dogs if I'm parked. Got both the keyless lock system and rope lights. I don't have a pic of the rope lights at night but they are BRIGHT. Also highly recommend the extra for the Cap Pack to store stuff. All my dog supplies are up there so I have nothing rolling around the back.

The topper total? I want to say way too much, but then again I know those Pacific Campers are like 11-12K.

Total quote I got was $4100 from the dealer. $2750 base, the windows were like an extra $500 and then you start adding extra things like rope lights, keyless entry etc + tax and it adds up.

The dealer was actually great because you can have the Cap Pack installed by ARE before ship, however she told me they charge like an extra $500 for it. So they let me buy the cap pack separately and ship it to the dealer, and they installed that with the topper when it arrived.

Ok, that’s about what I thought. I think the base price is around $3300 or so. I love the setup and think it’s worth it, especially since it comes painted. Thanks for the info brother!

I paid $3,550 for my Snugtop in 2022 and it is an excellent shell. The interior material will hold Velcro so my curtains stay in place to prevent anyone from being able to see inside.

I carried several hundred pounds on Thule cross bars with my last camper shell and used the Thule adapters for gutterless vehicles. I through bolted them to the sides of the camper so the load was vertical on the side of the camper shell and not on the top section.

If I still owned dogs I would have had the sliding front window and also tried to find a F-150 with a sliding rear cab window. That way with a collar the AC could cool the camper a bit. With a fiberglass shell and "limo" tinted windows the camper stays cooler than the ambient temperature.

I recently purchased a truck cap with framed windows that slide Open 50 percent of the length of the window. I've got a few dogs I toss in the back and I prefer how the framed windows opened VS the more expensive frameless windows opened.
