There is a way to check if Ford is even trying to update your vehicle from the Ford Owners dashboard. Mine says an attempt is scheduled through 2 Feb but they have failed before so we will see.

Well, went out to the truck to shut off auto update and the the system told me that 3.5.3 is now pending.

Dennis how did you get here? I am on my vehicle dashboard but do not see how to get into this.

Right click on the page and "inspect". On the next screen, type in "ota" in the search field and make the indicated selections. Refresh the page.

Mine said 3.5.3 is pending if I toggle auto updates off on Tuesday but still hasn't installed - will you let me know if 3.5.3 ever lands for you? Wondering if the pending message really means total OTA attempt failure

Will do, hoping that it's not stuck like others have stated. I had to force my updates out of 1.7.1 hell awhile back.

Now that you have it pending, give your truck some time in good cellular service and it should update shortly. I drove into town from the country and had mine install when I got back.
