I would not apply for a loan until it hits the dealer. I know you want to lock in your rate but moving to shipped is just the next wait and see phase of the process.

Just my 2 cents.
Why wouldn’t I want to lock in the rate though if rates just keep going up? If I don’t end up taking delivery of the truck which I doubt will happen, the loan is just a preapproval anyways. I’m not stuck with the loan

We help people sell their cars.
Figured I'd get this kicked off. Just got the email. Buckle up for a wild ride.
How exciting! Good luck and congratulations to everyone who got the emails! Can't wait or updates.

So once you get approved it is only good for like 30/90 days usually. Every time you go through the approval your credit takes a ding.

if you have significant damage during transport, or if Ford has a recall that prevents a sale until fixed. you have to wait. I personally would wait until you are able to walk off the lot with it. but that is just me.

and I did a house refi last year to lock in my rate, know they were going up. Didn't realize you could get the same rates offered at the time of purchase via Ford. which is yet another reason.

I explained the situation and they said they can extend the preapproval for me. I’m locked in at around 5.5% for 84 months which is way better than ford financing and what the dealer said they have been seeing for rates, so I’m going to take that while I can. But once I saw shipped, I’m convoy straight from Detroit to buffalo so I figured the ship process won’t take long once it happens. Guess we’ll see

I also locked mine in when on I did it when I went into production in august. Locked in 3.69/72 months. I picked it up with 10 days to spare. Although navy fed said they would extend if needed. The dealer couldn’t touch that rate 5 days before I picked up in the beginning of November.

One plus side of waiting. Getting 1.9 for 60 months
