2023 F150 build date

Do all the trucks leave Dearborn by rail? or do any go by Semi trailer? I have read conflicting things, mine says Convoy, some peoples say Rail. I have read that it says convoy if you are sent by rail to a yard and then convoy from there. but wondering , do any shipments by truck start at the plant and go straight to dealers? or are we all at the whim of the pending rail strike?

My truck traveled from Dearborn to VA via convoy the whole way, no train involved.

My window sticker also says convoy coming from the KC plant! Hoping this means i’ll get it a little quicker! Blend date of 12/2! I’ve been searching but nobody seems to give the same answer…what exactly is the blend date mean?

The blend date should mean when the body meets the chassis.

Yes, but they still need to install all the internals. like the seats, dash, doors, and everything. You should be done in a day or two I believe once your at this point.

I cancelled my order the other day. Was a little annoyed at the dealer, as they've offered no estimate on when the truck will be removed from commodity hold or when it could be scheduled for production. Meanwhile, every day my current truck loses value. Then the sales guy said "you want to cancel your order? You're telling me that if you could take possession tomorrow you wouldn't accept?" Well no, but it's going to be a minimum of 4 months and likely considerably longer. I told him I want to work with them to find trucks on the lot and he said well if you do that we won't honor your x-plan pricing.

Gee, thanks guy. Think I'm just going to buy a used truck that hasn't had half the options deleted.

Blend date should be when your frame and body hit the production line? To then build the truck should take 20 hr (assuming no offsite accessories, eg, spray bed liner, bed cover, etc) and assuming it doesn’t go to chip hold.

I am hoping, wishing? dreaming? that maybe Ford will want to move some inventory before the close of the 4th Quarter and get some trucks to the dealers. wishful thinking huh

Most likely wishful, yes. I looked it up. Ford books revenue when they ship a vehicle to the dealer. So they have ample incentive to put our trucks on trains (or trucks) before EoQ4, but none (at least from an end-of-year numbers perspective) to actually see them delivered. May help explain why the ETA I'm given for a truck being built this week is mid-January.

I know of one dealer in KY that will honor x-plan pricing on the lot, but I have no idea where you live so I am unsure if that helps

Would be sweet if we could go to the factory and pick up our trucks! Would save a lot of time. My truck was built on 11/28. Now it is awaiting shipment. Ford tracker said a few days to a week, but from what I have heard, it could take much longer. I live only 2 hours from the Detroit plant.

Would be nice because it would also save you $1800 in shipping fees

Thank uncle sammy. There is a law in place the prevents car manufacturers from selling directly to customers.

well, maybe. the law is a fact, but that wouldn't be selling, that would be picking up. not sure if the laws would prevent that.

Maybe not but then they’d likely be in hot water with their shipping companies. I’m sure Ford has some contractual obligations to them

Talked to chat today. ETA was pushed from 11/22-11/28 to 11/25-12/01.

I was told the new ETA is 12.9 but hasn't shipped yet. pretty sure its gonna be pushed back again.
