If you buy the extended service plan , do you get Ford points for it? If not, when you bring it it for the service, do you get points then? Just curious?

With my Ford Premium Maintenance the points accrue as I receive services under the contract.

That is what would make sense to me, that you accrue points as you receive the service, but I didn't get any points on my last service, guess I'll follow up when I bring it in for my latest check engine light and the 3rd attempt for the OTA update

How long has it been? My points after a service took a week to show up on my ford pass app. I was just about to call ford and waste some time, checked and there they were. Was a thursday.

Service was done on May 2. When I redeemed points for wheel well liners last month, the parts guy told me there was only 1 of the 3 service managers that knew how to do it? I don't understand why Ford has programs like this and doesn't make sure the guys are trained properly on it.

I have used Zeigler or Flood for several trucks in the last decade. And the refund for the unused portion has always arrived quickly upon trading in when I switched to a new truck. So I have never felt like purchasing it independently from any kind of financing is a waste or risk.

On my new 2022 KingRanch Powerboost I recently purchased ESP (8/100k)from Granger, just because of their active support here on the forum and their willingness to help folks navigate the pitfalls of buying vehicles in this crazy time in history.

It was painless and you aren't going to find a better price anywhere ever.

And as someone already mentioned, ESP coverage begins immediately and overlaps the factory warranty. Your ESP coverage isn't some 3rd party certificate you keep in the glove box and present to the service writer. Instead it is literally assigned to your VIN in Oasis! Any service writer, tech, or other employee that logs into Ford's various system interfaces will view the Oasis portion of your VIN and immediately recognize that it's covered with Premium benefits.

Dealers and training...where to start. Had my first oil change done at the closest dealer the other day. Didn't buy the truck there but I thought I'd give them another try. Everything is good so far.

The last time I had an oil change done at this dealer was on my old truck. I'll use the term loosely, "service advisor" was a smokeless tobacco user. He was one of those guys I guess thought it was polite when you're dealing with a customer to not spit on the floor but to spit into a plastic water bottle so everyone gets a chance to enjoy it when he sat it on the counter between us while looking at the computer. Took over a year to go back to that place just the other day.

The other two dealers around me that I have used in the past have new owners so waiting to hear good or bad about them. Only problem is they change the name and owners....still same people working there.

This thread helped me get a price match on the ESP with my dealer to match the pay in full price at Zeigler. I assumed they would say no and so I was just planning to buy from Zeigler, but I'd rather pay 0% interest with it wrapped up into the loan.

Thanks for providing all this info.

I have noticed Zeigler and Flood being mentioned here quite a bit.
I am curious if anyone from Canada has dealt with them and how the pricing differed?
If not, does anyone recommend a reputable ESP provider from Canada that the they have dealt with?

I got 42k points when I bought the truck, then another 42k when I got my ESP (8/100k) so a total of 82k points now

Did you do the Ford card for the ESP purchase?

Just curious how you for 42K point for the ESP purchase? I didn't see anywhere they were awarded for this.

Did you buy the plan with the vehicle, or after?

I did not gets points for my plan, but it was purchased with the vehicle.

I was quite surprised myself as I was not expecting them. They just showed up after a week or 2 after I got the ESP plan which was a week or 2 after buying the truck.
