I hadn't seen a post about this so I figured I'd share what I know.

Chip at Granger reached out to me today to let me know that my truck would require Bluecruise (Copilot Active 2.0) removed in order to be scheduled for production. My options are to remove it (go down to just Copilot Assist 2.0) or cancel my order.

Definitely extremely frustrated with Ford on this one. I regularly contact Ford chat (I ordered on 1/14 and still do not have a VIN) and ask about my order and they've told me again and again that I was unscheduled clean, there was nothing holding my order up. The primary reason I chose Ford was because of the Bluecruise (at the time I ordered, you could not get the GMC with supercruise). I'm still not sure what I'm going to do personally, but I figured I'd let ya'll know that "some" F-150s will be built without this feature.

From Chip

Hello Hayley. Today, I'm directed by Ford Scheduling that they will not be able to build some 2022 F-150s with the Active 2.0 Package. This includes the popular Blue Cruise feature that many people are excited about. The options at this point are as follows, again mandated by Ford Motor Company, not by Granger Motors:

--Your Active 2.0 package will have to be deleted and moved to the Assist 2.0 package. The main difference here is you'll move to Adaptive Cruise control and not have Blue Cruise (hands free driving).
--The change will result in a credit to your order for the Active 2.0 package. Revised build sheets will be
--You may elect to cancel your order and receive a full refund of your deposit. We certainly understand this change will be a deal breaker to some customers.
--While the 2023 F-150s are tentatively scheduled to open for orders in mid-July, we do not know what features will or won't be available for the next model year.

Yep...I saw that too. Bluecruise was a major enticement for me to place an order for a 2022.

Without it and multicontour seat removal and park assist removal...I will just keep my "like new" 2014. Because really my 2014 does everything I need.

This whole “chip shortage” narrative is such a crock at this point. Especially when you look at the production of computer hardware - it’s basically back to normal now. The “shortage” narrative was just leveraged to justify inflating prices for almost 2 years straight.

I personally chose not to have any of those features on my truck when I ordered it but I can see the appeal of it.

Same. I asked to keep the option on while I ponder.

Even if we push to MY23, likely no Price Protection, so that ~$2k option could effectively become a $3500-4k option, all things considered. I may have to do some quick math to see the potential real cost of waiting for next year.

Since I've been on order through two price increases the entire 2k saved would already be consumed if I reordered for MY23. Plus I'm willing to bet it might not even be available in MY23. I really only see two options, cancel or suck it up.

You are sorely misinformed. We by thousands of PC's per year. DELL is still at 6 month lead time.

We are still struggling to get chips. And no we are not a small mom and pop outfit.
We are global comany with yearly sales over 10 billion.

The shortage is reall and a pain in the ass. We have no clue from one day to the next what we will get from vendors or not.

Sorry bud, It's not. Not all "chips" are the same, especially between different types of hardware. Tons of different types of microprocessors.

At my work, we have an ETA on some "chips" for July 2023.

Ok pal, whatever you say. Your little narrative does not match the real world experience in different markets for other consumer products.

Yep, you can always stick with it. If later on you find Bluecruise is a must have AND it’s available on a ‘23, place an order and trade in the ‘22 when the time comes.

On one of the Tremor boards another user had a different confirmation for a regional Ford rep that their 402a was unaffected. I feel like this is confusion based on the way Ford wrote "100A-501A" Like the Tremor 402a is a lower trim, when it's almost higher than a 502a. Also, theoretically, Ford should have removed it automatically on the 27th, if it was going to be removed.

Basically, the regional reps don't seem to be in agreement, either.

I never said that other auto companies don’t have long lead times.

I was referring to the discrepancy between the auto industry and PC hardware industry. Just one example. The same fabs are making the chips for both. There are no real “shortages” on the PC hardware side of things anymore. Not really anyway. The auto industry is using the continued “shortage” to justify higher prices across the board all while pushing a totally different sales model that pushes ordering to spec vs. negotiating and buying something off of a lot.

Can you call Dell and let them know?
Because we have numerous multi-million dollar projects on hold while we wait out Dell's 6 month lead time.

Thanks

Again, no one here really cares about what your job (no name desk jockey) is or who your “supplier” is. Or what your super l33t company buys and in what dollar amount. The point is that there is a narrative mismatch when it comes to the auto industry.

Unfortunately, per Ford Chat, my order is now "Unscheduled- Compatibility," meaning it needs some update from the dealer to schedule.

This latest action makes no sense since it appears to only impact the BlueCruise option on 402A Tremor models. We would still otherwise have SiriusXM and Built-In Navi via the included Assist package, which was the basis for the bulletin (assuming it is not something new).
