1000 miles... and a new noise? :(

noticed coming home from work today, at very light throttle cruise, a odd bearing whirring noise that was never there before. putting in 2H it quits, 4A it comes back, 4H no change, still there. my 19 in 4H you hear a little sound as the transfer case is locked, but in 4A it sounds identical to 2A... im thinking the xfer case may not be unlocking in 4A. guess I should go drive in circles in a parking lot and see if the tires bark like they will in 4H vs 4A.
Anyone heard of any issues with transfer cases acting up? its gotta go back for the headlight still when I get time (hasnt done the strobing thing for a few days now) will have them check it out...hoping nothing major, but sure sounds like ring/pinion noise, only at light power... my mustang has a slight low load whirr too, but it was my first try at doing gears when I put the 410s in after a carrier bearing spalled apart...
