Went to my dealer today with update error information since the last time I asked they had no idea about what I was talking about. But today it was much better. I am scheduled to have the "fix" done on Tuesday, April 5th. Hope all goes well.
I'm headed to the dealer on the 7th. I hope all goes well for you. Please post your results. I'll do the same.

Ford “HELP”!!!


I took my truck to the dealer last week on Thursday for the TSB update fix and they told me that they couldn’t perform the update because they needed 2 special cables that they didn’t have on hand and needed to order them through their parts department. I called today and the cables still have not arrived.
Have you heard of anyone else running into this situation (or story) when taking their vehicle into the dealership?

I’m getting frustrated with the run around and with my new truck not working/performing/updating as it should.

please help

Just got my 21 F150 KR back from the dealer. He updated the software and all is working well. I had a job 1 production, with failed 1.7.1 and grayed auto update. Issues have now been resolved and Sync 4 version is updated. Will see how auto updates now work......

My truck went to the Ford hospital this morning and about an hour and a half later I got an email that stated I could not connect the Ford app with my truck. So I guess they are working on it.

Well, all I can say is %*##$)*@#$% !!! They worked for most of the day and still could not get the sync 4 fixed. They have a help request in to Ford, but no one knows how long that may take. They did "fix" something to do with the trailer. I don't even know what that recall is. They did manage to mess up about half of the settings in the truck. I guess I will reset the important ones and wait for them to call with "how to fix it" information from Ford. BUMMER!

- on 5/20/22. I don't think they have done this update on any one's vehicle so hopefully all goes well. I did remind them of the "special Tools" which hopefully they will have by then. Cheers and again thanks.

Took mine in Wednesday, they had it for two days and it failed every time. They want to try again next Wednesday but I am not holding out much hope.

I know its not ideal to spend money on cables and adaptors and license's to FDRS after spending 75k on your truck. No luck at the dealor if you follow the ECU programming usinG FDRS thread its very easy and any problem that can come up has already come up and been answered. There are a lot of very smart members here. That can and are willing to help you through the updated yourself. Assuming you have a newer laptop already you can get a mongoose cable for $495 and to save yourself in the long run get a 30 day FDRS License to be sure you can take your time and do all the updates. Its not hard you just have to be patient...and one more thing. Make sure you have a power supply battery charger and good battery voltage 12.5 or higher before beginning any updates.

At the end of the day they told me that the updates still failed and that the tech thinks it is because they updated the FDRS program to address the trailer brake recall and it is causing issues with updating the modules. He also stated that his USB drive is very old and wanted to get a new one and wait for FORD to issue a new update to FDRS.
I am in the tech field and I call BS! but I am not going to drop almost $700 to get what it takes to do it myself either so I get to wait for round three. :mad:

My dealer has been great with the determination in trying to resolve the Sync issues and updates and activate BC and they are making slow but steady progress. However, my truck as been at the dealer for over 2 1/2 weeks getting all the updates done, one update took almost 90 hours for one module revision update and they have updates for 8 different modules based on the problems I was having and each one has multiple revision updates. Hopefully mid week next week I will have my truck back.

I have a loaner so not having my truck really doesn't bother me as I just want everything fixed, but they have even said it will not be feasible for them long term if all the trucks take this long to update.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ford says they just fix the OTA error issue and let the other updates come that way.

I have 2021 F150 Platty with the same issue with the OTA updates, and the buttons grayed out, and won’t slide.
The dealer had the my vehicle and called Ford In car technology help line. The answer they got was it’s being worked on.
So far no date has been given for a fix.
However Ford Corporate said when the Blue Cruise is finally downloaded to the vehicle, first year is free.

I was told today by my dealership that the fix would be available 5-2-22, so I have an appointment for 5-6-22 to hopefully get this resolved. They had my truck for 2 days without any success.
