I was scheduled for a 7:45am window today to get the recall addressed. The dealership seemed to be pretty familiar with the recall, stating mine was the 8th one so far. It only took them about 45 minutes from check-in to drive-out, so I was impressed. My normal dealership usually takes 2-3 hours for n OIL CHANGE. I'll be going to this dealership from now on.

I got this recall notice last week in Ford Pass. I called the dealer this morning (4/4) to schedule the work. It is scheduled for Wednesday 4/6. Also asked about the TSB relating to greyed out OTA updates. Service advisor said that issue would be taken care of under this recall. They want the truck for most of the day so hopefully they know and have everything they need to do this work. I currently don't tow anything that has trailer brakes, so the issue isn't time sensitive for me but if it gets me closer to having Blue Cruse on my Job 1 '21 so much the better.
REQUESTED SERVICES
· REPROGRAM INTEGRATED TRAILER RELAY MODULE
· BLUECRUISE MODULE PROGRAMMING
· RECALLS MAJOR
Mine came back from the dealer today. They now have Blue Cruise working on my '21 Job 1 KC build. That's another story for the other thread.
Regarding the recall, they THINK it has been addressed, but the widget don't lie. They pushed an update to the module, but per the NHTSB Safety Report posted earlier in this thread, it's not the right one. I was hoping to be the first here to prove I had the right software on my truck but that'll have to be some other lucky owner. Oh well, at least I have Blue Cruise. :sneaky:

I'm assuming there's no need to get this update done quickly if I'm towing a trailer that has surge brakes, not electric?

Not sure this dealer deserves your praise. Sounds like they installed the wrong TRM software and improperly signed off on the recall for not just you but seven other customers as well. The software isn’t out yet.

Thanks for the report!! Sad to see the TRM fix isn't released yet.

No rush with surge brakes.
Your trailer shouldn't use any output from the truck, other than maybe the reverse signal to disable the brakes in reverse.

Thanks! I just checked my versioning, and I am still on app and I am still not there. :|

I have a question for anyone who had the TRM software updated from MUST-19J297-DG (or DF) to ML3T-19J297-BA: What happens when you push the "+" or "-" button on the trailer brake controller with no trailer attached; do you get any message on the "productivity screen" on the dash?

Before my truck had this update (done by a dealer who apparently thought he was remediating the recall issue), pushing a button on the controller would result in a brief message on the screen. First it would display the numerical gain setting and then it would state "no trailer attached" or something like that. Now after the update this doesn't happen; there is no longer any message displayed after pushing a button on the controller with no trailer attached. I'm wondering if this change is an intentional feature of the updated software or if something got messed up during the software update. TIA for any info on this.

I get a pop-up with the information you describe when pressing the gain buttons after updating to the February (“BA”) release. No change after the update.

Does this mean I'm good? Truck was picked up new from dealer March 25th, Fordpass still shows recall available though.
