Anyone in our build week have the dreaded rusty axle and other components under the truck? If so, how has your dealer responded if you've contacted them about it? Took these pics on Saturday morning, day 3 of ownership, less than 100 miles on it...

Curious to know what @Ford Motor Company thinks about this.

WTH is that? How does a new truck rust that quickly? ?

I was told yesterday that ford has put a transportation hold on vehicles. I take it that would be across the board and that my truck wouldn’t be delivered til May. They told me to hold off a week and see what happens. My date was pushed to 2/10 from 1/18-1/25 week and if everything holds true mine will be pushed just like everyone else. I told them I thought about cancelling and that’s when the wait a week came from from. So hopefully they can find a way to get my truck so I don’t have to go somewhere else. Just frustrating that mine is done and sitting since 1/5 at the rail yard and ford just puts a hold on everything.

I'm in the same boat. Built but just sitting in DRB.

Dealer called me today. Truck is ready. Gonna check it out tonight after work. Make sure the deal we worked out when I ordered sticks. Then get a check from my CU and pick it up tomorrow

Yeah, pretty ridiculous. Response so far from the dealership (salesman) is "looks like surface rust". Surface or not, there shouldn't be this much on the drivetrain, suspension, or exhaust on a brand new vehicle. Hoping @Ford Motor Company will chime in...

I don’t understand a transportation hold. A chip hold I get. If the truck is built and completely done, why not just get it delivered?

I get that delays happen, shortage of drivers, etc. Even wait for a full truck load, then deliver. But a hold? For what purpose

The way I’m thinking is that my dealer doesn’t have a lot trucks/vehicles from the rail yard mine is sitting so the trucking company won’t pick it and deliver it. But the thing of it is their has been multiple trucks at other dealers that are within 20 mile drive of mine and they are getting their trucks so I don’t understand. Im not waiting til May to get my built truck. I’d understand if it has t been built yet I’d wait but mine is built and ready.

Bumped again from 2/10 to 2/13

Mine got bumped to 2/13 too, hopefully it won’t be that long. I saw that my dealer got a load in today so hopefully they’re going right back to get mine and any others for my dealer

Mine also to 2/13. I'm hoping that since it's still a near term date that it's not on the dreaded transportation hold.

Ford tracker for me still says 2/10 but idk how often that is updated but like i said earlier they put a hold on mine so I doubt 2/10 holds any water

Mine made it out of DRB so I’m hopefully that it’ll be at my dealer in a week. Fingers crossed ? for you and the rest looking at holds that whatever is causing the delay is cleared quickly

I’m wondering if the snow and ice from this past week didn’t cause an issue with power or dealing with clearing areas

How can you tell that it made it out of DRB? My Ford tracker only shows built 1/5 and then the shipped email came on 1/14. But the tracker “shipped” circle is not filled in with a check mark like the previously completed steps. Weird

Shit mine has been sitting since 1/5 we have had snow about every weekend here but every other dealer is getting trucks from the same place where mine is. So idk what the deal is and my dealer doesn’t know either.

The dealer can look at the VVR and it says the current location. I wish the tracker would pull the information from their expanded system
