Trying to figure out if this as user error, or if there is something I need to have addressed.

I have the 2021 XLT Powerboost with the 302A high package.

Yesterday it was in the mid-'60s, and the air was set to 66 degrees Fahrenheit with the driver's side heated seat on. Overnight it had snowed leaving a layer of snow on the windows and this morning it was still 32 degrees outside.

With that said, I remote started the truck from my phone 28 minutes before I went to get it, but there was still snow on the windows, and it certainly was not warm in the cab of the truck. When I started the truck from inside the cab, the air/heat was still set at 66 degrees, and while it said the driver's side heated seat was on, it did not get warm until the truck was started from inside the cab and ran.

The issue is this is how I left the car when I drove it last, and I have the remote start setting set to auto, along with the heated seat.

Does anyone know what the auto settings are supposed to be, and is it not supposed to automatically turn on all of the defrost settings when it is below a certain temperature?

I'm a bit confused. You mention you started the truck "28 minutes before you left", but then said the "heat didn't come on until you started and ran the truck"
What do you mean by "start" and what do you mean by "run"?
it seems self explanatory but it could just be how different people view the terms.

I remote started the truck 28 minutes before I got in, then manually started it once I got into the truck.

I've also found on my '21 Lariat PB that the heated seats and heated wheel don't actually heat until I get in the truck and press the start button (even though the buttons indicate they're on when I get in). It's a bit disappointing. I'd love a warm seat to sit in and wheel to grab right from the get go.

What was the ambient temperature when you remote started it?

Here is how mine works. This morning was it was 30 degrees, I remote started it. When I got in the truck, steering wheel and seats were warm. When I actually start the truck, the temperature settings revert back to what it was set at when I last turned off the truck. However, my steering wheel and heated seats were on. (they were not on when I turned it off last)

Hmm...maybe I'm missing something in my Ford pass app, or maybe it's because I usually remote start with the key fob. But my climate control is usually always set at 70, it's been in the 30's outside, and I keep my heated seats and wheel on most all the time. I'd thought they would activate on remote start.

It should definitely come on in the 30's. Mine comes in with those temps whether I do it with the app, or the remote.

I believe there is a menu for this in "Settings" on your screen. Have you looked at those?

Have an appointment for next Friday to bring it in and have this addressed along with a backup sensor.

I will let you know what I find out. Should be covered under the warranty I would hope it is.

I just started it with the fob and went out after 5 minutes. Climate control was running, but the seats and wheel were stone cold. When I pressed the start button, seats and wheel lights came on as expected and then they started heating up. I checked the vehicle settings and seats and wheel were on Auto under remote start settings. I just switched Temperature from "auto" to "last setting". I'll try starting with the Fordpass app in a few minutes and see if that changes anything.

Cool. Thanks, yeah if you don't mind let us know what they say or how they fix it.

So I just tried the heat/heated seats. If you set your truck to last setting and crank the heat up before you get out and shut the truck off then the next time you start it up the heat will be the same. For heated seats it did not seem to work that way so I put the setting to auto and the heated seats came on and the rear defrost comes on

Will certainly do that moving forward until its fixed properly. Very much appreciated.

Have to get it fixed though. Too expensive of a vehicle to settle for things not working and finding ways around it.

Just hoping the dealership doesn't act like this is "normal" or "how its supposed to be" when I have found plenty of people on here that says its not, and others that have had it fixed.

Check out page 156 of the manual. Might offer some insight.
Dont have an actual owners manual, just the digital version on my phone and on the screen from the dash. Will see if I can look there though.

Thanks!
