Installed 6112s front and 5100s rear today. Set at 2 inch. Used the Dirt King cam alignment kit which makes sense to use when you see how much play the bolt can have without the slotted plate mount. I did not weld it in place and used stock bolts as the truck only had 1000 miles on it. Also was able to stuff the full size spare under with barely enough clearance and a little close to exhaust (V8 5.0 dual exhaust) so might figure out some kind of shielding in the future.

One thing I’d noticed is they use plastic for the transmission oil pan and isn’t protected. Has anyone replaced it with aluminum or gone with an aftermarket skid plate?

Running 285/70R18 Falkens on method 709s 12mm offset. Still a little rub on the crash bar. Not bad. Shocks not noticeably better than stock yet.

I may be totally out to lunch, but it looks like you have the 6112's set at position 4. I was of the belief that the 5.0 and 3.5 would get 2 inches at position 5 and 2.5 inches at position 6.

I would guess that's why you might still be getting some rub.

I could be wrong as I'm not looking at the instructions but just what I remembered from my install.

I know with the 3.5 eco it's 2 inches at position 5, 2.5 at position 6

No I think you’re right. I had it set at position 5 then second guessed it thinking position 6 would be 3 inch. So I set it at 4 and I guess according to that chart it’s set at 1.5. I’m not mad about it wanted a little rake still but might change it to 2 inch. We’ll see.

Honestly, I had to do mine twice, lol. Originally I set mine at position 5 for 2 inches but then bumped it to position 6 for 2.5.

Second time was much faster, lol.

What was the reason you went 2.5? Any issues with upper control arms or did you swap those out as well?

I just decided I wanted to run raptor takeoffs and figured 2.5 would give me a bit more space and make the truck closer to level.

No issues with the upper control arms.

For the rear 5100 shocks, should it be rubber boot up or down? I installed a different brand of shock and they recommended rubber boot down.

Great looking truck!

5100 should be mounted with label right reading, boot down. That’s how mine are.

Boot down is technically the correct way but i don’t think they function any differently with boot up and that made more sense to me. There was a whole thread about that on here.

Thanks for posting we just got a set of 6112 to install on our FX4. We have 4 inches of rake!!!
Our FX4 had factory 20 inch wheels and a dinky 18 inch spare.....OK but not how I'd run things.

I installed a RCI transmission skid plate. It covers a lot of territory. Ours has a notched slot that can be knocked out to create a slot for the factory "engine skid plate". if you want to keep it. That factory plate has a curled up rearend that fits into the slot. Since the factory FX4 plate is a few millimeters thick we threw it out and now have some nice protection from whatever may get under there.

For trans pan I replaced with PPE to get the extra 1.5 qt and got rid of the plastic. Skid plate - didn’t like a lot of the aftermarket products so went with a raptor factory plate. The holes are already in the frame for factory hardware and it attaches to the forward skid plate perfectly. There is also an oil drain plate (ordered separately). To gain better easier access to the drain plug installed a Fumoto quick drain. The plug is awsome btw cuts down on oil drain times and does not make a mess!

I have not seen one of those. Does the Raptor have a separate transmission plate?
