Has anyone had any issues installing the RCI transmission skid plate on an FX4 non PB while keeping the stock FX4 forward skid plate mounted? Looked a few YouTube videos looked like there might be an issue around the front crossmember on some older F150s but RCI claims there won’t be any issues...
Trust me I went deep on this topic. I’m still going to flip them because of my OCD but according to bilstein the orientation doesn’t matter. He actually said if you run it boot down to make the drain holes are a little bigger if you think you ever be in water that deep.
Mine have drain holes on both ends of the boots so they will drain either way. I think the reason for boot down is based on proper heat dissipation but I talked to bilstein they said it doesn’t matter with these new shocks.
Awesome let me know how it turns out. I got the 20s on mine too with same weak spare tire. That’s why I made it priority to swap it out to full size. So mine on setting 4 (1.5 inch) lift which took out most of the rake. I’m going to leave it there since I’ll be throwing the camper on next week...
As soon as they got away from NA motors they went south in my opinion. At least on the tundra. The 5.7L was bombproof. I still have our 5th gen 4R I’ll never get rid of with the 4L But it feels like the twilight zone every time I get in it after driving my ford around for a while and it’s only 4...
I’ve been a Toyota guy my whole life up until I bought this F150 5.0 a few months ago. I wanted to upgrade my Tacoma to a tundra but just couldn’t pull the trigger from all the issues they’re having since 2022 and everyone I know that has one hates them. I’m extremely happy with the Ford and...
Boot down is technically the correct way but i don’t think they function any differently with boot up and that made more sense to me. There was a whole thread about that on here.
No I think you’re right. I had it set at position 5 then second guessed it thinking position 6 would be 3 inch. So I set it at 4 and I guess according to that chart it’s set at 1.5. I’m not mad about it wanted a little rake still but might change it to 2 inch. We’ll see.
Installed 6112s front and 5100s rear today. Set at 2 inch. Used the Dirt King cam alignment kit which makes sense to use when you see how much play the bolt can have without the slotted plate mount. I did not weld it in place and used stock bolts as the truck only had 1000 miles on it. Also was...
I searched around for a while for the set of 6112s in front and 5100's rear, they've been out of stock in most places but finally got ahold of the set from 4WP for $1200. Saw some deals on some sites for cheaper but out of stock. Hope this helps.
Evening everyone. Ran into an issue with some wheels and tires I put on my '25 FX4 today. Originally came with 20s on street tires I'm guessing +44 offset. I wanted a slightly bigger tire on 18s without having to level it out. Eventually will level it but probably not for a year or so. Went with...
Those look great. That’s the same size my FX4 came with. Didnt know how the KO3s would look on 20s but I might pull the trigger on them after seeing this.
Sorry for the delay. Here she is. Ordered an ARE CX Evolve shell. Backordered a few months but I’ll post another pic when it’s mounted. Not sure if I like the 20s on it. Might switch up the wheels/tires around 5k miles. Any recommendations?
