Wired Carplay/ AA with fast charging - potential solution

As long as I have had this truck, and even more so with my 18 Sierra, I have been looking for a way to get fast charging for my phone while using wired Carplay and I think I finally found it. There is a catch that I had to also order a lightning to USB adapter where I have a current gen iphone but I have both on order and can’t wait to give it a try. It seems to work with most phones with specific instructions for newer iphones and pixels in their help section. They seem to be a small shop but I’m happy to support a small business as long as it works.

If anyone is curious why i don’t just use wireless carplay- my Sierra doesn’t have it and the adapters from Amazon are junk. For this truck I prefer wired for the reliability and higher sound quality.

Obviously not an ad or anything like that, just something that fits a need I have had for awhile and I know others have mentioned they preferred wired AA/Carplay so thought I’d share.

I’ll report back how it goes once i receive it.

Please send me a photo of the cigarette adaptor portion top as I could not find how much power the tree is sourcing, and "Fast Charging" is more of a marketing term than engineering one. I suspect you will get 15WDC maximum.
It appears the F150 receptacles are rated at 10WDC. Please keep in mind, power is not "injected" or pushed, it is pulled. For USB-C it is negotiated between source and sink to a Power Delivery Contract.

I have an iphone 16 pro so i need at least 45w to get the fastest possible charging and will be using a laptop adapter to one of my 120v / 20A outlets on my Powerboost. I chatted with the guy on Reddit and he said It's rated for 240w (48V@5A USB PD EPR)

it ships from Italy so it might be a week or so before I get mine to report back. i already grabbed the lightning adapter i’m going to need and have a cable so i’ll be able to try it as soon as it arrives.

It worked as expected even with a PD3.1 PSU and PC capable of PD3.1 contract of 28Vdc @ 5Adc (140WDC) that drew upwards of 130WDC, see attached.

We also tested it with several compliant Targus and Hyper USB-C cables and PD2.0 and PD3.0 supplies in both AC (plug-in PowerBoost dash) and DC (cigarette lighter type outlet in PB rear) supplies.

We use both AA and Carplay capable phones. For instance, our flagship S24 Ultra contracted for 9Vdc @ 3Adc (27Wdc "Ultra Fast Charging") and the flagship iPhone16+ at 15Wdc.

We did notice a couple of simple design flaws which I will discuss with the supplier. However, I can say go for it if you have a use case for it, especially an Android Phone.

Wait just re-read what you said. I would be disappointed if my iPhone 16 pro could only get 15W. I’ve never seen the advertised 45 in reality but have had it in the 30 range
