Dealer just replaced both mine few weeks ago. Driver side started doing it too. Haven't had time to mess with it.Hey guys, first post here. I purchased my 21 f-150 Sport last April and it has just over 22000 miles on it. My drivers side windshield wiper is now just slightly hitting the A pillar. I have removed the wiper arm and adjusted it down, but in order to get it down far enough to not hit the a-pillar the wiper arm now rests at the very edge of the plastic cowl just below the wiper arms and will probably make contact with it. I have removed the wiper arm and repositioned it about a dozen times and it seems it is either too low or too high and there is no in between. Am I doing something wrong?
The drivers side windshield wiper has about a quarter inch of play in it when at resting position whereas the passenger side has almost zero play. I fear this could be the culprit and it could be a more in-depth fix. Any ideas or similar experiences? Thanks all!
Additionally, I just checked the alignment marks which are in the windshield. The wiper arm is right at those alignment marks when at resting position, but wiper arm still hits a pillar when on full speed.
Mine is at the dealer today. I’ll update with what they have to say about it.Dealer just replaced both mine few weeks ago. Driver side started doing it too. Haven't had time to mess with it.
Update: truck went to the dealer today. Was there only a few hours when the service writer called and said it was ready. I asked what the tech had to do to correct the issue and was told the wiper blade was adjusted. Wife goes to pick it up and calls me on the way home. The wiper blade is still hitting the a-pillar. I can hear the “clicking” noise it makes through the phone. Now I have to call them and tell them it isn’t fixed and take it back again tomorrow. If only they had actually checked their work they wouldn’t have a come-back.Mine is at the dealer today. I’ll update with what they have to say about it.
So I took mine in about a month ago and same thing. Adjusted the blade and then told me it was good. Go figure it wasn't and I'll have to take it back again. I believe it's within my skill set to do what the tech has done, but I'm not sure repositioning it is enough of a remedy.Update: truck went to the dealer today. Mine went back to the dealer today. They ordered a wiper motor. I was thinking this could be the issue because the drivers side wiper had more “play” in it than the drivers side did. I’ll let you know if this is a fox or not. The part is supposed to be ordered and arriving in the morning. So I took mine in about a month ago and same thing.
