So looking back on my reply to another post (Here) my local dealer finally after almost 6 months got a window for my truck, even though the recall says to "remove and reseal" I had a couple small bullseyes in it from road trips and rocks so works for me.
So I take it in a week ago Monday to get it done, they have it most the day for windshield replacement and lane assist recalibration. So the second night after getting it done it rains for a couple of hours, I go out the next morning to leave for work and find out water is running in like a faucet about a 1/4 open above the mirror and corner above the passenger seat and running down the 12" screen and other locations causing the screen to glitch out off and on.
I take it back that morning and they keep it most the day again, when done the service rep said that the glass shop that put it in resealed and "Sonic" tested it (Whatever the hell that means) and that it was not leaking any longer. Ok great all is good, right? Wrong!!!
I leave the windows cracked, even though they did not and wait 48 hours before I go to the car wash and yes you guessed it water still pouring in at the same locations. I get up and look at the area where the water was coming in (see attached images) and find a piss poor job what looks like a 3 year old trying to caulk a crack. So after seeing that I go to check the lane assist and yep, that does not work either. So I will be contacting the service dept. manager now to vent my frustration on the poor attempt at replacing the window and what they plan to do about it.

Hi there, Kevin! This definitely doesn’t sound like the experience we want you to be having– If you'd like to, go ahead and send a message to us with your VIN and approximate mileage. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist. Thanks!

So when Ford Motor Company posts on a thread, has anyone gotten any help from them?

That's my nightmare, why I still haven't gotten mine done. I can't decide if I should do it or wait till I get a chip and have Safelite do it.

I did autoglass for 20 years...20 years ago, lol.

We we just getting to other than windshield keeping rain out ( think Nissan's 300 with HUD, lol)

Even back then, most of the problem was not the tech, it was the installer- it was the guy that did it the fastest- not the best- was the top guy. The good installer- no leaks, not sloppy, didn't hit on the owner...- were the guys that went out to fix the mess ups.

If you can live with a repair- not in line of site- go for that. But in most cases, better places than Safelite...

A local place will have the best installers- guys smart and good enough to open their on place. they will be part of a network to give coverage in US

After EIGHT months of sheer torture the one silver lining is that by the time they finally got around to building my truck, many of the "Gen14" bugs were already worked out.
