I use Android Auto with a Pixel 7 Pro in my '23, and EVERY time I get a text message, my Audio Volume automatically starts playing at Voice Volume. So if I'm listening to music at volume 5 and I get a text, it instantly goes to volume 15. Adjusting the volume shows that I am now stuck in Voice Volume despite music playing. I have to hit the assistant button (truck, not Google) and hit Cancel to get it back to Audio Volume. This also happens when I use the Google assistant.

You can imagine how aggravating this is when someone is constantly texting me. I have yet to take it to the dealer because I know what they're gonna say - "you need to remove your audio system and run the stock amplifier for a week to clear codes so Ford allows us to proceed with diagnostics on the XXX module". I know it has NOTHING to do with my sound system because it was doing this shit long before I installed it, and the amp and Zen module don't control Audio/Voice/Prompt volume levels anyway.

Has anyone else faced this? I'd love to know of a fix; I can't be the only one.

Same - happens to me, but when it switched from a call/text back to the music, it will only play at the wrong volume for a split second.

I am on a Pixel Fold using wireless Android Auto. It happened on my Pixel 8 as well.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Ford Sync 4. The same thing happens with Carplay and it's infuriating. Sync apparently only allows for a single volume setting for AA or Carplay ringtone, notifications, and calls, but allows you to set separate volume levels when using bluetooth only. There's nothing the dealer can do since it's how the semi-evolved simians at Ford's Sync dev team coded this pile of crap to behave with Carplay and AA.

I have gotten to the point of putting my phone on silent after it connect to Sync because otherwise it'll blast my eardrums out when I get a call or text. Oh and God's forbid my wife and kids go on a txt free-for-all.... what's worse is if the phone is already muted Sync /Carplay will oftentimes flat out ignore that and play the sounds anyway forcing me to unmute and re-mute the phone...

Oh an Sync also LOVES to turn my phone ringer volume all the way up if I don't mute it right away on connection. If I don't and after I get out of the truck and get a call it's like HA! GOT YA AGAIN!!
