I want to clarify my issue compared to the term “shudder”. To me “shudder” means an actual noticeable defect in performance. For example I had a Chevy Colorado and those were known to have a shudder at 30k, where the truck would literally struggle to shift gears.
where I have some of the noise related issues reported on the shudder forums, I have no noticeable performance impact. This leans me to believe it’s like a piece of plastic or metal vibrating against something on the truck.
i had a truck years ago that had a stand off bracket that the bonding material wore off and when I would add slight rev on inclines causing Low deep vibration to the engine, it would vibrate against the frame and it drove me insane it literally sounded like I was going over a rumble strip.
i am getting this exact TYPE of sound but it’s much more dampened, it’s not as loud, and feels more under my foot than under the hood. I cannot recreate it off highway it’s only on highway. IE, cruising at 70mph going into an incline and increase to 75mph, the truck will have about a half second buzz. Can’t confirm at this time if it’s a 9th to 10th I want to say it’s in 10th the whole time I don’t feel a stutter or skip or anything it’s all audible and I feel it SLIGHTLY under my foot.
im not overly concerned at this point because of my prior experience with my past trucks, it really does feel to me like it could be a bolt or piece of plastic somewhere vibrating. Those driving conditions tend to add deep slow vibration to the engine/components therefore it’s easy to notice something like this. I’ve read forums where ppl are getting shakes in their seats, or shuddering in shifting. That is not my experience. Any thoughts or similar experiences? I haven’t climbed under to see if I can find anything.
