Can someone be kind enough to help me out with this? I took my 2021 F-150, V8, 5 liter sport in for an oil change.

When the finished and I got home I read the notes/paperwork it read this: "missing dust cover, needed to remove to finish oil change". When I realized these notes I went back to ask what exactly had gone on, I asked was something taken off, and not put back on, or what.

The dealership said they were unaware why it wasn't put back on and ordered the part to put on, when the part came in they said that actually my truck never had this in the first place, and that my truck doesn't even come with this.

Does anyone else who has the same truck as me have this on their truck? I will attach some pictures of what I have (a smaller one that you can see is there), but also where one maybe should be? My friend has the same truck (mine is sport, her's is not sport) and she says her's has another one below the smaller one I have so I am wanting to see if you all have one there and my dealership is lying to me or in fact mine didn't have one to start with

pics are a bit confusing
are you saying the spot open directly behind bumper down to frame cross member?
mine only has a felt thing from first frame chassis cross member to the aft under the engine
if it helps

Hey, so the first felt think underneath at the front of the truck (let's say roughly under the drivers seat/passenger seat) there is one as seen in the pic. but that's the only felt thing that I have under there. I am wondering if another one got removed for an oil change and not put back on

Yes there should be one covering that entire section where you say there is zero more. I've seen a couple guys driving around town with theirs hanging on the road because just like mine it appears they tear it at one of the corners when removing then blame the customer.

In your last photo - you can see the silver rectangular mounting 'nut' (with round hole) where the bolt and washer go. It's in between the frame cross member and the stabilizer bar. As for them saying your truck didn't have this in the first place - they are wrong. I have been under a few 21-22s (5.0s, and 2.7s) and all had this cover, I believe its called the transmission pan debris cover. Its there to protect from road debris from damaging your transmission pan. Someone must have removed it and never put it back on.

I have a 22 XLT 4x4 sport v8 and I took delivery at 4 miles on the truck.
I don’t have a cover under my transmission. I have the small felt panel under the Oil filter and the same metal plate supporting it. just had my first oil change and nothing is removed. There is a drain pan for the filter to drain out the front and rear of the felt panel. No oil gets on it at all.

hey thanks for getting back to me. Check out this picture, are you talking about the part I have circled red or blue (where the mounting nut/washer should go)? I am going in to a different dealer tomorrow so the more info I have the better.

Its actually in between the 2 that you had circled. I just did an oil change on my truck this weekend and somehow bent one of them a bit to where the bolt wasn't going in at first.

Interesting, as everything that I have seen has this cover. The removal of things as time has gone on must have increased, or they skipped putting it on and nobody doing QC saw it was missing. Who knows these days.

Time for somebody to find a part number. I’d like to replace it on my truck along with the other 22 model deletes I've already replaced. Ie.. Cargo/ glovebox lights.

I just got back from a different dealership, what engine do you have in your truck, it would seem the 5.0 doesn’t have this part (I said to just order it and I’ll pay) but he couldn’t order as there was no option for my engine and couldn’t guarantee it’d fit.
