Been trying to find the source of the musty/sour smell that has been getting worse over the course of the rainy summer. I've seen the posts about cleaning the fabric wind deflector at the front of the moving panel and how that has helped some folks. When I put my nose right up to it it does smell dirty but not the strong sour smell that permeates the cab. I cleaned it with a mold/mildew cleaner anyway, and cleaned / lubed all the seals.
While doing that I noticed the 2 foam strips on the tray under the rear edge of the moving panel and smelled it up close - I think this is the source of the cab smell. Exact same strong sour smell. There's one foam strip in front and one behind the joint between the moving and fixed panels. Anyone figure out how to clean these? Is there a way to remove the tray it sits in? I'm actually thinking of yanking the strips out of there entirely - I think they're meant to catch water that comes through the joint, but their sitting in a tray that would seem to drain the water to each side into the main drainage channels. So I'm thinking these strips aren't critical.
By the way I also checked the rear side of the cab for leaks and found no signs of leaks. And a month or so ago I sprayed the foam into the AC drain and that did solve the musty AC smell. But the sour smell remains.
