Turbo whistle

I have a 22 PowerBoost and from time to time I hear a whistling noise while driving, seems to be when under load. It was doing it quite a bit the other day while I was towing a camper. The first time I heard it I was going up a mountain road in Estes Park Colorado. I think it could be the turbo wastegate? Just want to find out if it would be a cause for concern or just annoying? Doesn't ever seem to happen during normal everyday driving.

My 23 pb’s turbos are pretty quiet. Sometimes I can hear them in the cab, but usually I have to roll down my windows to hear them. I have a turbo gauge I can turn on in my cluster, maybe your 22 does too? What you’re defining sounds just like the turbos.
Though depending on your friends could be something different… I have a harmonica and zip ties in my truck and am waiting for the perfect opportunity to zip it to my best friends truck

It could be the blow-over-valve (BOV) as well. In my reckless younger years, I had a 91 Nissa 300z Twin turbo and loved to spool up the turbo in idle and listen to the BOV release air.
