Ohh sorry I got the numbers backwards.
I measured cold and not running while changing my oil the other day and it was at "4". I did that just to build a tool and loosen the dip stick cover for when I need to get in there hot. Welded a box end to the end of a long piece of steel with a hefty angle to it. Now I can loosen & tighten with the cat hot without burning myself.
I have not checked it running yet to see how much it drops. Have any of you noticed how much it drops running vs. off?

Mine wasn’t even on the stick when engine off, or engine on while cold. As it warmed up it barely made it onto the stick at the tip, not even close to the number 6 near end of dipstick. Adding about a quart got mine to be between 5-6 (non-powerboost proper level hot). So I can’t confirm what happens just after engine start because my factory fill wasn’t even on the stick while cold and engine off or running. But I suspect there’s not much difference in the level marking between engine off and engine running but cold fluid just after start.

Yours at a 4 while cold for the powerboost will probably rise up between 3-4 when hot and be just right. That’s my guess.

If you need a 10R80 'weak point' to be concerned about for your "forever" truck, see the attached and search the forum for 'CDF Drum'. This potential problem is not mitigated by fluid-change frequency, it's matter of a 'component design shortcoming' and replacement with an upgraded part.

A max miles / years PremiumCare ESP may be your best investment for a "forever" truck.
Holy crap. That's a lot of work and disassembly. Feels like the "fix" could lead to lots of other issues as a result of the intrusive nature of the repair.

Was this component updated in later model year F-150s?

I just let the dealer do a full
Fluid change at 3/30
And will probably not think about it again Until 75-100k. I did not make it rocket science or a philosophical debate, I asked my dealer for a trans service. Then I Let them do it as per their standard procedure. They said they generally don't mess around with drain and fills on these so I let them do the full swap.

FWIW attached is the only procedure in the 2022 Workshop Manual as of 09/29/2021. Maybe Ford has updated their recommendation on this?
Where can one find these documents(pdf) that go over a repair? Thanks!

see this for some sources
Factory-Manuals.com product review | F150gen14 -- 2021+ Ford F-150, Tremor, Raptor Forum (14th Gen) | News, Owners, Community, Discussions

or you can buy the genuine Ford CDROM Workshop Manuals (the 'benchmark' for being most complete and user-friendly, IMO) from
Owner Manuals, Service Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, Service Bulletins - Helm Incorporated

A top-quality manual is like a top-quality tool ... not cheap in any sense of the word.

I finally pulled the trigger for www.factory-manuals.com. They had a coupon for the Deluxe version and after all the dust settled it cost me $98.97. I had it within a few hours. The bookmarking is good but as most have said, the hyperlinks don't work. I could make them active if I had a week of free time to go through the whole thing with my Adobe Pro DC...
Nah, I can find what I need just fine! :sneaky:
