Trailer Hooked up & Anti-theft Alarms

This weekend I rented a U-Haul Trailer to haul some stuff... Hooked it up Saturday morning, disconnected Tuesday morning. During that time, if I unlocked the truck without starting the engine, the anti-theft alarm would sound after I locked the truck and a few minutes. If I clicked the lock button on the FOB, the alarm would quit but come back after a few minutes. The immediate fix was to start the truck and then stop it. Disconnected the trailer and the problem quit... I heard there's a software update that will fix this...

It was available on FDRS as of late February.

You were misinformed. The problem and the scheduled date of the software fix were described in SSM 50226 released last year. See the attachment to this post. https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/ecu-module-programming-guide-using-fdrs.8249/post-198661. The fix was released on time and available on FDRS for dealers to install in February.

Side note, not to hijack this thread.

I had my trailer hooked up with harness and all safety Hdwe, truck locked and armed, went to drop the trailer, but leave in place without moving the truck, disconnected the trailer plug…..about 2 seconds later the truck alarm went off, kinda cool.
