I purchased a set of used wheels and tires for my 24 f150 that supposedly came off another 24 f150 that has the black appearance package. Can I just put these on my truck or do I need to go to a tire shop to have these tpms sensors registered? I'm reading mixed things...

Sadly I didn't do my research and I could have bought the same set brand new from Ford for the same cost, shame on me for not looking them up beforehand....

I do not know the answer to your question but nothing special has been required when I have rotated the tires on my vehicles. You could just replace two tires on the front or back and see if they register (are you sure there are sensors installed). If you plan to keep the black wheels on your vehicle, you need to install them anyway before any "registration" would have to be done if it was required.

If they are from the same year, the TPMs will be the correct frequency. You can take the truck to the dealer or tire shop and they can TEACH the truck the new TPMs or you can buy the tool to do it yourself. Putting the truck into learning mode is a combination of brake and on off so many times. I don't remember the exact amount of each.

When I switch my tires over, summer/winters, I wait to see if, some times not, I get a error on the IPC. I stop by my dealer, and they do the relearn on the truck at no cost. Takes all of 3 minutes to do it.
