Looking to get new Toyo AT3 SL rated tires on the truck (2021 F150 XLT with Powerboost).

Rarely do I haul much other than 3 or 4 times a year if I help people move, however, I load up the bed of the truck for camping and fishing with tents, coolers, and typical stuff. As far as offroading goes, I may end up on a dirt road from time to time, but not doing any rock crawling.

Will the SL rated tires be an issue?

I agree that your use of the truck justifies the choice on SL rated tires. No issues there. However, I have seen folks get a little disappointed when the SL tires go on because they typically have less tread depth and the sidebiters are usually not as pronounced. The Open Country ATIII does not have as an aggressive sidewall as some, so that effect would not be as great. The tread depth will still be a significant change from the E Load. An ATIII with 275/60/20 on an E rated tire has a tread depth of 16.4/32", the SL rated has a depth of 13.5/32" - a major difference.

I don't tell you this to talk into an LT tire - far from it. I have just known so many ppl who expected to get what they thought a Falken, Nitto or Toyo looks like, but were surprised at the SL version being less aggressive. However, that is the tradeoff because the bigger lugs on the tread and the sidewall is where a lot of the extra weight is coming from.

I just got a set of E rated ATIII's and would agree with this.
