Thanks Aron. That's a lot of good information and helps clarify what I've learned so far about WDHs.

The compatibility I'm mentioning (or meant to mention) has more to do with the connection to the trailer frame/tongue. This is one of the WDHs near me. I think I'd rather buy a used "name brand" hitch instead of a cheap amazon hitch (although I do appreciate the quick research!).

Quite likely yes. Most WDHs connect to the "A frame" of the trailer tongue in a similar way. I qualified that "yes" because your specific trailer may have some specific situation where this isn't the case. For example, maybe the spot on your trailer where your propane tanks are mounted happens to block the exact spot where these specific bars need to connect. Differing WDH brands will have slightly different bar lengths, so it's possible. However, most brands are of similar length, so trailer manufacturers tend to avoid putting "stuff" in that area of the frame. It's pretty likely that you'll be OK in that regard. If you want to be 100% sure of compatibility, you'd probably need to ask the hitch seller about the length between the ball and the frame connection point, and then take that information to the seller of the trailer and verify that that point is clear on the frame.

That is what I expected. I am going to go measure the trailer next weekend to see what kind of clearances I have on the A-frame. I'll also check out the brakes, bearings and tires.

You've been very helpful, clear and concise, must be the civil engineer in you! Thank you!

I’m happy to help. The learning curve for towing safely can be steep; I’ve made a number of mistakes over the years, and am happy to do what I can to keep others from stumbling into those same pitfalls.
