2022 Lariat Powerboost
First time posting (sorry if this is in the wrong channel).

I recently placed an order for a 2022 F-150 Lariat PowerBoost with the Tow Technology Package. My salesman call this morning to let me know the Tow Technology Package is no longer available on 2022 models. According to him Ford is limited the amount of cameras and sensors on trucks moving forward. This is obviously a big draw back because I was wanting the 360 degree cameras that are included with this package. Has anyone else heard of this option being removed going forward into 2022?

Can you order the 360 camera option on its own and the Max Tow package? You get the same stuff, I believe. That's what I did on my 22.

Looks like when adding just the 360-Degree camera it requires the Tow Technology Package. I'm not looking to add the Max Tow.

Hmm, well that definitely wasn't the case when I ordered mine in November. The 360 camera package is an absolute must for me. Edit: I'm wrong. When I ordered I had to choose either Tow Technology or Max Tow. I ordered Max Tow to get the heavier duty rear axle. I have the tow technology knob (or whatever it is called).

The supply chain is screwing things up for everyone.

Agreed. I'm coming from an Altima to an F-150 and would like to have the added tech to help with parking in the garage or tight parking spots. It wasn't something I was adamant about until we got my wife's Telluride. Now we use it way more often than we originally imagined. My assumption is we would use it even more with a larger vehicle.

Agree. The front camera is super helpful along with the 360 view. I like that the front camera will automatically come on when the front sensors detect something.

It would be nice if they could install everything and then install the chips needed at a later date like GM is doing. I know Ford is supposedly going to start doing that now, too. But, they may feel the 360 camera system is safety related.

I ordered a 501a lariat powerboost with tow tech last Saturday. My dealer has not mentioned this.

Thank you for this information. I called another dealer in town who is known to be shady and they said they haven't heard of the Tow Tech not being available.

Could it be on commodity restriction like the CoPilot360 Assist on the XLTs? And other dealers just haven't entered a lariat yet? That restriction might not even be permanent, because it still allows for it on the Order Guide that was just released.

I just looked at an updated order guide earlier today and saw the tow technology package still listed. I think really the only think I saw different was that you could option halogen headlights all the way up to lariat 502a if you wanted to get your truck faster. LED was still standard though.

I was not allowed to order copilot assist 2.0(adaptive cruise control). I wanted it, but not a deal breaker. However, removing tow tech would be a deal breaker. I want 360 camera on 6.5ft bed.

That's a good point. I find it hard to believe Ford would include 360 cameras on a Limited or Platinum order. I've called a couple other dealerships in the area to ask if they have heard the same information. All the sales people I talked to so far said they were not aware of a restriction with the Tow Tech package. But I'm awaiting on them to confirm with sales managers. Will update shortly (hopefully)

Orderd a 22' PB Lariat with Tow Tech package on Feb 9, dealer hasn't mentioned this. But maybe it'll come up once my vin comes through. Ford dealer said nothing about any of my packages being a delay though, as she checked for common ones earlier this week.

So far I've talked to 5 additional dealerships. None of the sales people have told me that package is currently unavailable. Granted, none of them have gone through the complete purchasing process to try and place my order.

Thank you to everyone who has chimed in so far (especially those of you with very recent orders) confirming you haven't been told of any delays with your Tow Tech packages.
